I have a beaded metal urethral sound (small steel beads on a stainless steel cable). I’d like to remove one bead to increase flexibility so it follows the natural curve in the urethra more easily and allows deeper insertion without discomfort.

Has anyone tried removing a bead from this type of sound? Is it safe / recommended, or does it often cause issues (sharp edges, beads shifting, cable damage, etc.)?

I was planning to use cutting pliers to remove one bead.

Any experiences or advice?
