Hi all, looking for some advice and info about cock rings. I'm a guy who can sometimes struggle to get it up because I'm on an SSRI, so the idea of a cock ring has intrigued me recently. My main questions are:
- What exactly do they do and how do they work?
- How do I choose the right size?

Hello all, I don't really have anyone to share this with in my personal life, but I'm full of excitement and want to share it somehow, and I got some great advice from this sub beforehand so hopefully this is the right place for this😂😭
I got my first butt plug about a week ago - silicone, 1.25 inches, and a T-bar base - but at first it just sat in my cupboard because I was so nervous about trying it out. But yesterday I suddenly got this feeling of "nah, I'm ready for this now, I wanna try it". So, I proceeded to get everything ready - box of tissues, towel, lube, and my phone on my bedside table with all the tips and advice I had received written in a note - and just got started.
It took about 40 minutes and like 6 or 7 separate attempts to actually get it all the way in, but eventually I suddenly just felt it kinda "slip" in, almost like a vacuum sucking it in, and I realised I had actually managed to get it in. It kinda took me by surprise, because during the whole process of pushing, deep breathing, and gradually upping the pressure, it felt like it wasn't really moving at all. The only reason I knew it was actually going in was because I eventually felt the base suddenly touching the edges of my buttcheeks, meaning it must have gone in atleast some distance. And man, I'm glad I looked for advice beforehand, because during this process it really does feel exactly like poop coming out at times (which makes sense, but I would never have thought it had I not read about it prior). Saved me from having a needless scare lmao.
But yeah, I suddenly realised it was actually in, and then I stood up and walked around for a bit, just kinda getting a feel for it and allowing myself to get used to this very new sensation. I could certainly feel it in there, but it didn't feel quite as "full" as I had expected (I'm guessing that's cause of the plug's size?). It felt great, don't get me wrong, but I was surprised that it felt so comfortable for my first time. Not sure if now would be a good time to be upsizing so quickly, so any advice about that would be highly appreciated.
I wasn't really paying much attention to the time at this point, but I think I had it in for about 20 minutes before I eventually took it out (which was a surprisingly easy and quick process - I'm assuming the lube is what makes the difference there lol). And again, I was surprised at how comfortable everything seemed for my first time. The highest I got on the pain scale was maybe an occasional 0.5/10, and my butt has felt totally normal since I took it out (is that normal or have I exceeded expectations in some way?🤣). Another thing that surprised me was the lack of poop stains - my plug genuinely looked like it had been soaked only in lube and water after it came out, not a hint of brown anywhere on it (don't worry though, I obviously cleaned it thoroughly afterwards regardless).
Anyway, that's about it. I've never shared stuff like this much online before, so I'm not sure how this might come across, but yeah I'm just really happy and proud of myself and felt an urge to share my experience with people who I knew would understand☺️ can't wait to do it again and hopefully build up towards bigger sizes and longer term use soon!
