Kael slid the silver cylinder from his pocket, holding it between his thumb and forefinger. "It’s all there. The complete architectural schematics for the orbital grid. Every backdoor, every blind spot."

"And the encryption key?"

"Installs automatically upon upload," Kael said. "But once you use it, they’ll know exactly who leaked it. You have about six hours before the corporate network undergoes a hard reset."

Vesper stepped forward, exchanging the cred-case for the drive in a single, fluid motion. Her fingers were cold. As soon as the metal left Kael's hand, a weight he hadn't realized he was carrying lifted from his shoulders.

"You should leave the city tonight, Kael," she said, pocketing the drive. "When this goes live, the fallout isn't just going to burn the corporations. It's going to bury the Lower District."

"That's the plan," Kael muttered, stepping out into the rain.
