What do you do in this situation?
You told a girl that you are friends with that you have feelings for, but she wants to be friend. however you said that you couldn’t be friends. She tells a mutual friends that she is upset that I won’t be friends, but says that she will remain my friend. Now when she reaches out to you, she is trying to maintain the friendship, but you can’t get past liking her and being just friends because you feel that it would be a disservice to yourself. So your replies are slower and minimum and you have become a bit distant with her.
For context I have been friends with this girl for a few years and only recently I had caught feelings. Without realizing I told her I was fond of her. We are part of the same friends group and I still hangout with them since they are good friends of mine (I see her there as well) and i still get invites to there gatherings and parties. The core group knows I like her and have told me to find some more hoes, which I was actively doing. It’s slowed down now since I’ve been focused on work, schoolwork, working out, and seeing my boys that I have bit seen in a bit.
