Ok so could use some advice from experienced folks here. There's a gorgeous woman in my gym who wears an anklet, right side no charms. We've smiled and kind of done that whole deal in terms of friendly looks. I told her I liked her anklet and asked if there was a pineapple on it. She thanked me and said "nah, no fruit" ... I thought I was being slick and it totally didnt give me any context like id hoped.

Am I just an idiot looking for a sign that doesnt exist??!
