I don’t really use traditional social media or have a proper account on apps like Instagram or Snapchat. For the past year, I’ve mostly been using SayHi to meet and talk to people through voice calls. Surprisingly, I ended up meeting a lot of interesting people there, and many of them genuinely enjoyed talking to me.
One thing that helped a lot is that I’m pretty good at roleplay and keeping conversations fun and engaging. People often got really comfortable around me, and some of them even became emotionally attached over time. Even though most of them lived far away, the connections still felt real in a weird way. Sometimes they would open up a lot, share personal stories, and even show their faces during calls because they trusted me.
It’s kind of funny because I never expected an app like that to become such a big part of my social life, but it actually did. I live near NCR, so most of the people I met online were from completely different places. Sometimes I wonder how different things would’ve been if even a few of them lived closer.
