A few months ago I read about how studies measure penises, and its taken from the pubic bone to the tip. As in they place the ruler over the penis and press into the skin till it reaches bone. Many studies call this the "functional length" under the assumption that fat compresses and you can use most of that length . So whenever you see a medical text saying "Average is 5-5.5 in" they mean measure from the pubic bone. On average the fatpad thickness is measured 0.5-1" so the visible length would be lower as in the visible average penis would be easily under 5"

But I wonder how "functional" this length truly is. Does it count as the "insertable length" of a penis or is the average insertable length less than 5?

I ask this here because I think members in a sextoy community would be better equipped to answer this question since

a) Users here would be familiar with the insertable length vs total length concept of dildos (though a little different to penises)

b) Users here would be more likely to be accurate about measurements and estimations and also have a better idea of what length works best to hit their spots and they can judge the insertable length of a dick better.

c) Users here are more sexually open?

Hope this isn't out of place!
