In the US, it’s officially Mother’s Day! 

Whether you have positive or negative feelings about today, I hope you’re able to take time for yourself to feel. You can be elated; grieving; scared; angry. Whatever it is, it’s yours, and it’s valid.

And I also want you to know: motherhood is more than having birthed a child from your body. Sometimes motherhood looks like loss. Looks like reparenting yourself. Looks like adoption. Looks like caring for a community. 

While not every mother has the mentioned body parts in this script, I’ve included an edited copy that doesn’t mention genitalia to honor you as mothers. You deserve to be honored, respected & recognized today, too.

So when I wish you a happy Mother’s Day in this audio - I hope you know I wish it with the intention of honoring you & whatever your motherhood looks like. It’s worthy of honor, respect & recognition.

A day of flowers, handmade cards, breakfast in bed — and that’s lovely.
But maybe it’s also a good moment to pause and recognize just who counts as a mother.

Biological mums. Adoptive mums. Bonus mums. Foster mums. Trans women who are mothers. Non-binary parents in mother roles. Mothers who’ve lost children. Those who longed to be mums but never got the chance. And everyone who loves, nurtures, and shows up — even without the official title.

You carry, feed, comfort, schedule, survive — and somewhere along the way, your own desire can get buried.
But it’s still there.
Raw. Powerful. Sensual.

This little script is my way of saying thank you — but also of saying:
You’re not just a mother. You’re desirable. Gorgeous. And sexy as hell!
