Met a 39-year-old woman from Facebook… didn’t expect this at all
So I randomly connected with this woman (39) on Facebook.
She dropped a simple Hi. Looked good, seemed friendly… but honestly? I wasn’t even planning to entertain the chat. Random online conversations usually go nowhere.
But she was warm, easy to talk to, and somehow the conversations kept flowing. I mostly listened. Didn’t share much from my side. Yet kept talking.
Then came the part I didn’t expect she slowly started flirting. Now I was confused. Part of me was curious, and alert. Age gap. Online stranger. Different phase of life. Too many thoughts.
However, we met for coffee.
Not gonna lie I was nervous as hell. First time meeting someone older, someone who started off as a random stranger online and somehow became comfortable.
Surprisingly, the meeting wasn’t awkward. She was confident, straightforward, fun to talk to an made comfortable. The vibe felt easy.
But here’s what I’m wondering
Why do some random online connections feel more genuine than people we’ve known for years?
And has anyone else here ended up building an unexpected bond/friendship with someone significantly elder through social media?
Would you have met? Or called it risky and walked away?
Curious to hear real opinions.
