I started a little over 2 weeks ago now and feel like I'm doing OKAY at the moment (omw to 100 followers) and I always hear that hashtags kill engagement on twitter, but I experimented with posting with and without hashtags and also in and outside of twitter communities my engagement seems much better with hashtags and community posting. I've nearly doubled my following in the past week from this but since my account is still relatively new and I have limited experience I'm hesitated to make any definitive conclusions about it given this could be a random short term boost and it might be hurting me long term to continue using them, anyone have any anecdotes or more conclusive data about their efficacy?
