Because once AI becomes emotionally convincing enough, it kind of changes the whole equation.

An AI companion can be available 24/7, adapt perfectly to your personality, never get tired of talking, remember everything about you, and constantly give attention and validation. For a lot of lonely people, that’s going to be incredibly hard to compete with emotionally.

And before people say “real relationships are different” — yeah, obviously. But convenience usually wins way more often than people like admitting.

I honestly think we’re heading toward a future where AI companionship becomes completely normalized, even if people currently mock it.

Do you think AI relationships stay a niche thing, or eventually become mainstream?

Kinda crazy to think about where AI girlfriends could be by 2030. Right now it’s already realistic chat, voice calls, image/video generation, memory, etc. But what do we see in a few years?
