Maleficent captures Prince Phillip - Sleeping Beauty (1959)
Just wanted to return to this amazing scene in movie history. It wasn't the first bondage moment I ever saw, nor was it the first that awoke the fetish within me. But it still stands head and shoulders above most movie scenes featuring bondage.
It still boggles my mind that this scene was allowed to exist in the first place. The animation alone must have taken weeks to render, especially in the 1950s. And speaking of that decade, this was a time of the Hays code, and widespread censorship in film and television. How did a scene this kinky end up in a family film by Disney? I can only imagine that some of the production crew were subscribers to Bettie Page.
In-universe, it's also mindboggling to me. Maleficent didn't have to capture Phillip in this manner. She could have used magic to teleport him to her castle dungeons, she could have trapped him in some unbreakable magic bubble. But no, she orders her goons to ambush him, bind and gag him, all while she watches, clearly turned on. Rarely have I seen such incredible domme energy in a character as Maleficent.
