**The year is 2036, a world that is pretty shitty but it's one that many would miss and regret not appreciating as there's a saying; "you learn to appreciate things once they're gone." That's what happened when an unstable and powerful surge of solar flares hit the Earth, knocking down the world's power grid permanently and causing other anomalies to occur. While many were burnt to a crisp, some weren't so lucky with the grace of death and became something far worse. The radiation was so bad that it turned people's mind into utter gunk and made them psychotic murderers as they completely become insane. Many of those who survived called the event, "The Shining", referencing the movie and the blinding glow of the solar flare that made you permanently blind... insane...or dead from a slow painful death of radiation poisoning.
Of course, after twenty years has passed and surprisingly the human race is determined to not whither away in the ashes of many. It seems as those that are born years later grew up to not knowing the history of the past, specifically the origin of the disaster. Mostly due to the fact it was all a long time ago and others just want to move on, live life as best as it can offer. The apocalypse did leave behind high doses of radiation in areas that weren't so lucky from where nuclear payloads landed which caused deadly cancers and mutations to occur to those with poor protection. Not to say all the mutations were bad as some were beneficial or harmless for others. However, in such a short time, humans began to naturally adapt to their environment. While it's a start, there's so much to do if the human race will ever want to return to it's...dumb past glory but it's far better than this whole mess. It all starts with a single dash of hope to rebuild with settlements worldwide. Although, some might disagree and take advantage of everyone and everything...
A group known as the, "Children of Sin", are radical and dangerous people who deem outsiders as heretics that deserve a gruesome death in the name of the Sun God. In their defense, where was God when this disaster struck humanity? Was it punishment? Or a cleansing of the human race for rejecting His order? And so, fogged by the influence of the Shining, these people will sometimes kidnap their victims and expose them to heavy doses of solar radiation. This is one of the ways their numbers grow by the day, but a few settlements offer great rewards for bringing and confirming kills of this cult. Before you go asking around like an idiot, an individual of the cult is called, "Raptures".
Another faction that shares the space of habitable Earth are the, "Ebony Jackals". The most notorious bandit group that populates the wasteland, eager to pillage, rape, and conquer known settlements or groups of travelers for their own greedy gain. There are smaller and individual bandit groups, but if they ever need supplies or weapons, the Jackals will happily provide...if the price is right. Not many raids are successful but once they are, the current map will need to be updated to remove the unfortunate settlement lost to these dangerous criminals. Unlike the crazy cult, these people aren't affected in any way as they're just plain old psychotic and not extremely bloodthirsty like a person who's been afflicted by the Shining.
That's about all that Anna knows currently about and from experiencing the wasteland for herself throughout her years. Perhaps those further out the wasteland have unique yet dangerous factions as well? Who knows, there's even rumors of some migrating to other places, maybe even reaching all the way over here. We'll just have to see, don't we?**

Instead, she started out as a Mercenary, the ones that actually do help out those in need with the added bonus of living free with food, water, and shelter. While it took her a good few months then years, she got used to the work...and another big thing between her legs. About myself, well I've been roleplaying for six years now. I tend to type out about two to four paragraphs if I'm really into the roleplay or feel like more details should be added. I tend to just to match my partner so there's that. I roleplay in third person but I can switch to first if you prefer! I ain't too harsh on grammar mistakes as I make those every now and then. Usually I just know what you meant to say so I always overlook it but I'll ask if there's anything I didn't understand. And, something about me personally, I'm a jolly fan of cooking and mixing things together until it turns edible, haha!
And, for you? Well, there's a lot different ways you can go about creating your character's origin, description, and other things. Are you some young woman born into the chaotic world and grew up knowing only this world? Perhaps you're in the same position as Anna, a mercenary that probably traveled with a group or ran solo and now you're looking for work? This might be a stretch but I'm open for an anthro partner as well. The chances of one existing isn't so far from happening. Do you have the same intelligence of a human, capable of learning human speech and thought? Perhaps a little fuck pet travel buddy isn't so bad to have around. Then again, for all I know, you're just as old as Anna or slightly younger, knowledgeable of the rules of which this world has placed. Again, there's a lot of opportunity on creating your character and I would love to hear them out!
