I've been in and out of the scene for a while, but I've noticed a few...weird or uncanny experiences with newer creators and files that give that weird AI feel? When the creator doesn't give notice that they actually are just a person using an AI, and instead just pretends to be a real person?

I've listened to a few, and immediately felt like, "this is an AI voice", or script, yet there's no tagging of AI, no-one in the comments on the page is like "nice bot, dude" or something, they talk...like the persona they have. I go on other forums and people use AI prompts or voices to play with ideas and I have no problem with that, when it's honest. Recently though, it's like, am I crazy, or this whole thing just like...not..right? Or human? With a few files.

As I said, I'm fine with this stuff when the creator is honest about it, but I think it's a little weird/maybe unethical when people sub to patreons of creators who are just using an AI voice or advanced TTS, role-playing as someone they're not. And I don't know, AI is really good now. It can definetly catch you out! It's convincing, more than a few times a video has been AI generated and I didn't see at first glance, with AI being more normalised (and a definite increase in botting in comments and on social media, ie dead internet theory), it's plausible you could create a distinct voice, type of speech/writing, that's just believable enough but actually totally isn't.

I don't know. Am I crazy? Any of y'all have any similar experiences?
