It's 2144, and Earth has been completely taken over by the 7-8 feet tall humanoids for the past century. Humanity tried really hard to fight away the invaders, but to no avail. Our technology was no match for theirs, guns, nukes... all completely useless.

It was ruthless the first couple of years. the aliens destroyed city after city, razing nations to the ground after humans refused to surrender, but after 24 years of constant defeats and the loss of 3 billion lives, we finally gave up.

Aliens did not really ever see humans as threats, so when they finally had all our main administration destroyed, they put their real plan in motion, to taking over the planet and building something way better. Both for them and the little humans.

They created a new world where the subspecies of the planet, the homo sapiens were taken as cute pets or cattle. We have no rights at all, and it's illegal for society to have feral humans running wild in cities as they seemed both a danger to the environment but to ourselves as well.

Adoption centers were put up to take in all the feral ones and people start taking a few for themselves, it became the norm to have a human pet. They would mostly be naked, sleep in little crates, drink from bowls and serve their masters. Some humans were a bit resistant to this lifestyle so many measures usually took place, like altering their vocal cords or limiting the movement.

After so many years most humans live happily as the cute slave pets for their overlords, and don't seem to remember a life without a leash on their neck.

Your curiosity really wants you to go check the adoption center yourself. Just to have something warm at your feet while you read your reports. You're not cruel, you just genuinely believe humans are an inferior subspecies. And inferior things belong to superior things. That's just biology.
