Harassment is not part of the job

I had to file my second restraining order against a client today and I’m sure it will be a shock when he is served by a police officer at his residence with his wife and family!

So many of us are taught by clients, by society, sometimes even by other workers that obsessive behavior is just “part of the job.”

It is not.

A client repeatedly contacting you after being told to stop is not romance. Showing up uninvited is not devotion. Threatening your income, stalking your social media, creating fake accounts, it’s harassment.

You are allowed to say:
- “Do not contact me again.”
- “This interaction is over.”
- “You are violating my boundaries.”
- “I am documenting this.”
- “I will involve law enforcement if necessary.”

A lot of predators specifically target sex workers because they assume we won’t report them. They assume we’ll be too afraid of stigma, exposure, disbelief, or retaliation to defend ourselves.

That silence protects them.

You do not owe anyone unlimited access to you because they paid once. You do not owe emotional labor beyond what you consented to provide. You do not owe kindness to people who weaponize attachment against you.
Protect your peace early.

Document everything. ♥️

Trust escalation patterns.
Tell other workers when someone becomes unsafe.
And please stop minimizing behavior that is clearly obsessive or coercive just because we’ve been conditioned to tolerate more than we should.
