TLDR: it’s really not hard to make cold foam with plant based milks
Back in my college days when I still had to work (🤮) I was a barista. The hours were short but so full of bullshit they felt like 12s, didn’t help that I was an “essential worker” during the pandemic. MY POINT is that mixing drinks is not hard, in fact it’s so easy a man could do it.
So when I, someone with a severe dairy allergy, ask for Oatmilk Coldfoam as a substitute and they say “oh we can’t do that” I KNOW FOR A FACT they are full of shit. Not only have I literally ordered it before, it’s not hard to toss some oatmilk in a blender with a pump of vanilla and let it rip.
The coldfoam is literally just heavy cream and shit ton of liquid syrup. Either vanilla or unflavored depending on the franchise. I know that it’s pre-made, I used to make it. I am BEGGING these kids to use their brains. I know it doesn’t foam as much, I just want fluffy milk in my drink please for the love of Hekate.
Anyways, I made coldfoam at home. Because SHOCKER, it’s not rocket science. It’s so simple, that I did it in my own kitchen. Crazy, I know.
Also, I understand this is a ridiculous thing to get upset over but it is literally so frustrating to have a dairy allergy. I just want a sweet treat without an argument over whether it’s possible to foam oatmilk. Also I may be PMSing, so that could be a factor of my crankiness.
So that I feel less crazy, please tell me what little things drive you nuts 🫶🏼
