Nudism vs Swinging — How Do You Navigate the Difference?

My wife and I are fairly new to nudism and are both in our 40s. We’ve always loved the freedom and comfort of being clothes-free, and recently started trying to connect with others in the nudist community online.

What we’re struggling with is figuring out where the line is between social nudism and the hookup/swinger side of things. We completely respect that everyone has their own lifestyle, but that’s just not what we’re looking for. We genuinely just want friendships with people who enjoy nudism in a relaxed, respectful, non-sexual way.

My wife is also pretty shy and feels more comfortable around women or couples, especially since we’re new to this. She gets uncomfortable with the idea of showing up somewhere and being outnumbered by single men she doesn’t know. The problem is that when we post or respond to people, most of the messages we get are either from swingers or single guys immediately pushing things in that direction.

For those of you who are more experienced in the nudist community:

How do you find genuine platonic nudist friendships?

Are there better places or groups for social/family-style nudism?

Is there a polite but clear way to communicate boundaries without sounding rude?

Is this just part of online nudist spaces, or are we looking in the wrong places?

We’d really appreciate honest advice from people who’ve navigated this before.
