Was he trying to scam me??
I was texting with a guy on snapchat and after a bit of talking he wanted to send me cash on paypal. Tbh Ive never used paypal before so the whole thing was new to me.
He wanted to send quite a large amount, but said that I need to buy or redeem (I didnt really understand) a 100$ voucher code first or something along those lines.
I didnt have a 100$ on my paypal and it felt rushed so I asked if we could wait till tomarrow, but he said that wasnt possible.
He also sent a screenshot of a (nearly) completed transaction to my name with the amount that he said he would give, but even on the screenshot it said smthg about a 100$ voucher in order for the transaction to actually go thru and for me to recive the cash.
Could this be real or was it a fake photo?
I might seem really dumb but as I said, Ive never used paypal before so I have no clue how things work on there!
I searched it up but found nothing useful, so I figured this was a scam. It didnt make sence, why I would have to spend money in order to recive some? I was also quite stressed at this point cause he was kind of rushing me.
I ended up blocking him😭 but now Im scared that he was genuine and maybe even lost money because of me? He was kind of wording it that way, like that was gonna happen if I dont spend the 100$
So do you think this was genuine or a scam??
