After years of searching, I've finally come upon a decent quantity of methaqualone HCl. Very excited to try ludes, and I was hoping some of you might be able to clarify a few things for me.
For one, is it possible to smoke methaqualone HCl, or does it need to be freebase? Probably going to stick to oral mostly, but I'm curious to try this ROA.
Second, if consuming orally, is it worth it to freebase the salt anyway? I've heard anecdotally the freebase is more potent.
Last question is about protocol for freebasing methaqualone HCl, if anyone has experience with that. I'm not a complete novice when it comes to chemistry, but given the rarity of this chemical I really want to maximize my yield. Currently I'm thinking the easiest method would be to dissolve the methaqualone in concentrated NaOH, mix in chloroform, then extract the organic layer and let it evaporate. Are my choices of base and solvent appropriate? They're just what I have around. And does the NaOH concentration matter much, or will more just be better? Any other pointers would be much appreciated.
