Contributor Applications Are Now Open

One of the questions we’ve received most often since the transition to the new moderation team has been:

“How can I become an approved poster?”

Today, we’re excited to announce that applications for approved contributors are officially open.

That said, it’s important to understand that r/erotigif will remain a highly curated community. The goal has never been to maximize the number of posts or contributors. What makes this subreddit special is its consistency, quality, and unique style, and we’re committed to preserving that standard.

As a result, only a small number of applicants will ultimately be approved to post.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for contributors who understand the overall vibe and direction of the subreddit and can consistently create posts that fit that standard.

This isn’t about posting volume or account size. It’s about quality, curation, presentation, and attention to detail.

If you’re interested in becoming a contributor, you’ll have an opportunity to show us your work and demonstrate that your content aligns with what this community has come to expect.

How To Apply

  1. Go to the main r/erotigif subreddit page.
  2. Tap the ”+” button to create a post.
  3. You will see a message that says:

“This is a restricted community. Only approved users can post, but you can still comment.”

  1. Below that message, you’ll find a box where you can enter a reason for approval.

In that box, please tell us:
-A little about yourself
-Any experience you have creating or curating content
-The types of content you would like to post here
-Why you feel your content would be a good fit for r/erotigif

5)Once you’ve completed your request, click the blue “Request To Join” button.

After we receive your application, we’ll review it and follow up with additional instructions.

What Happens Next?

Applicants who appear to be a good fit will be asked to submit three examples of the type of content they would like to contribute.

We’ll review those examples and provide feedback. If we believe your work aligns with the standards of the subreddit, we’ll send you our contributor guide, originally created by the founder and former lead moderator, Duke Silver.

This guide outlines the quality standards, formatting expectations, and curation principles we expect all contributors to follow.

Applicants who demonstrate a strong understanding of those standards may be approved as contributors.

Even after approval, all posts will initially require moderator review before appearing on the subreddit. This allows us to maintain consistency while new contributors establish a history of high-quality submissions.

A Final Note

Because of the standards we’re maintaining, many applications may not be approved—and that’s okay.

A decision not to approve an application is not necessarily a reflection of the applicant. In many cases, it simply means the content style isn’t the right fit for the specific direction of this community.

Please don’t be discouraged if you’re not selected. We appreciate everyone who takes the time to apply and share their work with us.

We’re excited to see the talent within this community and look forward to reviewing your applications.
