For nearly a year something kept breaking into houses, taking a range of items varying from expensive jewellery to small items worth little to nothing but strangely enough this thing only seemed interested in one person’s house. It wasn’t like they weren’t making an active attempt to catch the creature breaking in and stealing from their home. Cameras had been set up but as soon as the back door slowly crept open the video of the camera would become distorted and besides a tall, dark silhouette being visible from time to time that was all that could be seen. Whenever the being entered it left everything how it was with the exception of stealing and the occasional religious text being torn apart and any crucifixes being dismantled.
It always kept to the downstairs and avoided any and all interaction with the human sleeping on the second floor but recently there have been signs of the creature deciding to further explore the house, testing the limits of what it can and cant do without overly aggravating the owner by entering a room on the second floor, one that held a firearm. Upon the human waking and discovering it had stolen the self defence weapon the otherwise harmless creature suddenly became a threat. Of course, the being didn’t understand what a firearm was or how to use it as it was only stolen due to the potential value in selling it but the human didn’t know that.
For the next few weeks the human studied the monster, observing its likes and dislikes before constructing a cage, one in a room with a padlock attached to the door to prevent the being from discovering the cage and the human’s plan to capture it. The monster was blissfully unaware about this threat and once the trap was set in place and ready the padlock was removed from the door. The cage was designed to close and lock once something entered and fortunately for the human he knew exactly what made it tick. The creature noticing the lock was gone decided to push its luck and enter the room where it saw a bible resting at the very back of the cage. As expected, it entered the cage to rip apart the religious scripture but as it did the cage door slammed shut and locked trapping it in there for the human to finally see.
The human hadn’t actually fallen asleep, they were awake and listening and the moment their trap had succeeded they sprung out of bed and into the next room to finally lay eyes on this demented, intimidating creature terrorising them for many months but as the corner was turned there was no two headed canine or drooling beast it had expected. It was a girl, one that clearly wasn’t human yet resembled one. She had two arms, two legs, a head, she would look exactly like a human if it wasn’t for her other features.
