The thing that inspired me to make this post was just stumbling on an actress who is new to me. She makes videos under the name OnlyVanessa. I've only been able to find her content on two sites, and both have paywalls protecting full versions of the videos. It wouldn't be the first time I purchased full videos from a fetish site, but she is quite prolific in her breath-related roleplays. I'm just wondering if anyone else has bought any of it, or might know where I can watch it for free.

I also wanted to drop a few names of other creators whose work I've run into over the years in this niche. They include: KelseyObsession, Foxy Roxy (aka) DommeJayne, and honorable mention to Sophia Smith, who doesn't specifically cater to halitophilia, but has done lots of mouth / vore / giantess videos, and has mentioned breath play on at least one occasion.

When I began researching my kink, I happened on a now archived post under the subreddit r/unpopularopinion. The post was titled:

Smelling someone's breath is always uncomfortable, even if it's "fresh" or someone you're close to

I tried, two times, to leave a comment with my first encounter story, but they wouldn't publish it citing that I didn't have enough karma. So, I thought I'd share it here, and invite you guys to look at the thread and then, consider my comment which follows:

"I have to agree with those who point out what a misnomer it is to file this one under "unpopular opinion". While it's true in many cases (okay, most cases), I had an encounter that wired me differently for life. I was probably about seven, a 2nd-grader in a new school with new kids, and a girl in my class whispered to me in close, face-to-face proximity. This was my first conscious encounter with the scent of someone's breath. I remember finding it odd at first, not extremely foul or unpleasant, just odd. For whatever reason, it intrigued me enough that I looked for more opportunities to be that close to her, at least until I could figure out what the smell reminded me of. I wasn't attracted to her in any other way, physically or personality-wise, but her oral scent was drawing me in more and more. Of course, this made me recognize how awkward it would be to tell anyone, especially her, that this was going on, which only made it more thrilling for me. I was lucky to continue going to the same schools with her thru junior high (now called middle school). This obsession followed me into adulthood, and although, as we all know, not every encounter has been or will be a pleasant one, I have had some other nice experiences, both random and intentional."

Intro: I hope to make these a regular feature. This one, however, isn't the first random thought that inspired me to drop these; I'll come around to that one on a later occasion.

Since my earliest unsolicited encounters with breath scent, and after the obsession had become established, I began to imagine what a person's breath might smell like based on their features and characteristics, which could be voice types, what they might be eating or drinking, smoking, age groups, etc. Of course, I'm more partial to some over others, so I'll refrain from getting into specifics. (On other posts, I've mentioned which scents I have become attracted to and how I discovered them.) The thing I'd like to get at in this post is that feeling, that sense of thrill, that sense that happens when the elements seem right, that temts me to start a conversation with the person of interest, and try to get as close to them as circumstances allow so I can settle my curiosity. Even though it's really a non-committal affair, the anticipation feels almost the same. This seemed a lot easier in my school years, as well as when I attended parties and went to bars more than I do now. Of course, there's always the chance that the result doesn't quite match my preference, but that's okay; I like coming away with the feeling that I got to know an intimate detail about that person that I hadn't known before. I will add that the more perfume, shampoo or soap, or whatever artificial scent that person carries around, the more curious I become. Breath scent isn't just influenced by dental hygene. Lots of other internal factors can be at play, and I just wish it wasn't so awkward to want to know.

So, has anyone else felt this way? To what lengths have we gone, or would we go, to get in close proximity with a person for the temptation to smell their spontaneous oral scent?

One of the components to this obsession that I find it so difficult to discuss, in spite of its core relevance, is my earliest known perception of there being a scent associated with someone's breath, as well as how I processed this new bit of information, voluntarily and involuntarily. Of course, I was quite young still, and by the time it happened, I had since even earlier discovered my fascination with other incidental scents given off by ordinary household items, foods, cleaning products, and nature. Sure, I was aware of bodily odors, but the breath encounter would be the first time a biological scent really called my fascination.

I'm also trying my best not to blur the age and growth stage lines, while being clear about the fact that I was a kid when this was happening. As minors, we begin to discover certain involuntary reactions that are associated with attraction; erections for us guys, etc. Sidetrack example: I was probably around 6yo when I began noticing this reaction whenever a female cousin of mine sat next to me on the couch.

My first encounter: If you read the file I linked in my "Compiled" post, I was the 2nd grader who sat next to a classmate that was eating a tangerine, who whispered to me at close range. That was my first time noticing a warm scent she delivered which was different from whatever else was going on. I don't think I had even yet heard kids making bad breath jokes. It was a totally new experience for me. As such, I found myself at a loss for even how to judge it; I wasn't yet sure whether I liked it ir didn't; I didn't know whether to talk about it, to her or anyone else, and I don't think I even had the now familiar pre-sexual reaction. So, I simply decided that I needed more exposure, more information. Sometimes, opportunities would easily come my way; other times, I had to be a bit more proactive. It became an obsession, as my conscious and natural reactions became definite and indisputable. Even at that age, I began having dreams about her using her breath as a weapon in a proto-bdsm situation, which would take place in a tunnel or dungeon. And all of this before even entering middle school, which luckily for me, she and I continued attending the same school and some classes.

I shared this post in hopes that anyone else finds it therapeutic, and maybe feels freer to share similar accounts, from vague to descriptive or in between.

So, one thing I've long suspected, but can now verify with almost certainty, is that those of us who have this obsession (or who chime in on discussions thereof) are of near-exclusive male persuasion. This is despite the possible exceptions of one female whose story I included in the compilation of stories I shared two days ago, and another who has contributed to this subreddit.

Also, I've been following ASMR on YouTube since circa 2010, and as in the "two sides to the coin" or "two wings of the bird" metaphors, a not-as-disproportionate majority of the content creators in that arena are female. Coincidence or not? I say, 'tis what 'tis. Though there are plenty of videos that are focused on, or include elements of, breathing and blowing sounds, and even camara fogging, I've only encountered maybe two or three creators who even broach the topic of breath scent. I've tried to gently suggest or request a video that focuses on that element, even playfully. One creator who does "sneezing" videos replied to me that she doesn't feel comfortable enough for breath videos.

I've also spent some time traveling through the GWA's and Soundgasm's, and haven't really found any content specific to halitophilia.

I guess I'm appealing to any and all females with a playful streak and some lofi recording device: Yes, AI is making it possible to create audio/visual material, but it still lacks (quote/unquote) "natural" inflections, cadences, extra-textual vocal sounds, and, most importantly, intentional breathing sounds. I'm hoping there can be a start to recognizing halitophilia as a topic.

Three years ago, I finally mustered both the curiosity to see if there was anyone online who shared my halitoid obsession, as well as the courage to share some personal stories of how it began and has followed me through life so far. I (male) then compiled the comments I found to be most constructive, along with my own contributions, into a text file with the intention of having a female acquaintance read it in an audio file for me. What I'd like to do here is share the file so that other enthusiasts can either be inspired to share their own experiences, or just read and enjoy.
