Hi Mods,

At this point, I genuinely have to ask: what exactly is the role of the moderators here?

I have a couple of concerns regarding how this community is being moderated.

First, I’m genuinely confused about the purpose of having a “Straight” flair in a subreddit that’s meant for the gay community. What purpose does it actually serve? LGBTQ+ communities are among the few spaces created specifically for us, so having a dedicated “Straight” flair feels unnecessary and out of place.

I’m not saying straight people shouldn’t participate respectfully, but why do they need their own flair in a gay focused space?

Second, I’d like to point out an inconsistency in the moderation. One of the community rules states that posting images of female actresses isn’t allowed.

However, I recently came across a post that included one, and it remained up. This makes me question whether the rules are being enforced consistently.

If exceptions are allowed, it would be helpful to clarify them. Otherwise, it gives the impression that some rule violations are simply overlooked. If moderation isn’t going to be consistent, then perhaps the rule should be revised or removed.

I’d appreciate an explanation regarding both the “Straight” flair and the inconsistent enforcement of the community rules.
