Just called CPS on a fent mom
My friend is 23… I found out about a month and a half ago she smokes fent. She has a 2 year and a 1 year old. I didn’t realize the severity of usage until I had other people and her explain how often she has to use or she will go through immediate withdrawal. I’ve been in the mindset that I can save her. I call her everyday to make sure she’s okay, bring her food etc. I’m 34. Recently her kids caught lice… they have had lice for over a week without getting treatment. Only combing of the lice. That was my breaking point. If you can afford drugs. You can afford to get lice treatment. I even told her she could go to the urgent care and get it through insurance but of course she doesn’t know where the babies social security card is on her insurance cards.
I finally realized I was being a selfish person by putting her above her kids. I made the call. They will be in contact shortly with CPS and I’m so scared. It’s obvious I called and I don’t care they she knows, I guess I care I can’t be there to support her if she cuts me off. I just want to do what’s right for everyone involved. Advice? Opinions?
