[TUTORIAL] How to Generate TEXT... (READ DESC)

This tutorial is to help y'all with the text generation in NovelAI, since it can get messy most times, here you can find dialogues, body writing... etc.

First of all, I want you to know that it’s best to avoid generating the text directly in NovelAI, because even if you follow all the steps, it still has its own limitations and it won’t work 100%. That’s why I personally recommend adding it in any image editing program instead. It’s the method I’ve always used, and I find it much more convenient than generating it natively. But if you still prefer to do it directly with prompts, I’m here to help you.

  1. Remember that you need to read the basics before this or already be experienced with NovelAI to understand this tutorial.
  2. Make sure you have the full version on, to change it just click in the box above the base prompt (It's in curated version by default).
  3. Don't forget putting your personal Undesired Content list!
  4. Now that we’re looking at the undesired list, pay close attention, since most of lists include text related tags by default because messy text tends to appear and it can be annoying. But since this time we’re trying to get text, make sure to check your undesired list to see if you have any text tags and remove them from there so the AI doesn’t block the text.
  5. Once you have your prompt done, you’re ready to add text. First, I’ll show how to make dialogues. For this example, I’ll use Jade saying "Toasty" in Yama’s style for the sake of variety. It's easy, you just add the key tags "speech bubble, english text, text, text: your text goes here". You can also add a custom color if you want, in this case I'll be using green.
  6. Anddd there's our result, easy, right? Anyways, be careful, the longer the sentence is or the more complex your text is, the more likely the AI will be to make mistakes. So keep that in mind. Let's give it another shot with a different dialogue.
  7. Here we are, we got a pretty nice result with a different prompt and quote, now let's move to the next part: body writing
  8. The base is the same as with dialogues; you just change "speech bubble" to '"body writing" and the rest follows the same logic. Now, you can't really choose how or on which part of the body the text is written, it'll usually be on the ass. However, if you want more control, you can simply generate the image without the text, then add the tags, and use inpainting to manage the exact area where the text is generated.
  9. As you can see, I had zero problems with this one, time to move to the last part wich is text on surfaces like nootbooks, signs, text messages...
  10. There’s not much more to say for the last part, since it’s practically the same as the previous one but with the "body writing" and "speech bubble" tags completely removed. That said, notice how I specify "sign" and "holding sign" in the prompt so the AI naturally understands where to place the text, just make sure to indicate in your prompt the surface you'll text will go on, whether it’s on a letter, a shirt, or anything else. If you’re still having trouble, use the trick I mentioned earlier and apply inpainting.
  11. And the result, I must say that I chose a pretty easy text but it came out well lol

THAT'S ALL!

Hope it works for y'all and this tutorial ends up being useful ^^

If you have any doubt comment it below and I'll gladly help you with any problem you have, also if you have something to add, a suggestion for future tutorials, or any extra tip you can drop it.
