The rain wasn't going to stop tonight, pounding against every inch of available ground and entity; she wasn't going to stop either. 15 years of searching, scavenging, hunting, studying - it had all led to this night.

Elena was now a strong-willed, intelligent, accomplished registered nurse of 35 years of age. She's currently finishing up a phd course - specializing in emergency medicine along with disaster health systems studies - all stemming from the impact of the heroicism she witnessed first hand of the "mystery man."

That fateful night, as her parents' car careened into the side guardrail just beyond the turnpike, the icy road not giving an inch of respect to any who drove by, this man risked his life to break through the glass of the car, and pull her mother, father, and her from the wreck. As soon as he'd arrived, he'd left without a trace. Had he left them, they would have burned alive or surely died from smoke inhalation.

Months later, after their recovery, a mysterious philanthropist would be commended for paying for all of their healthcare and home care, not a single cent needed from the family.

Elena never forgot that and for years would make a vow to find the man who changed the course of her life. Tonight was that night...finally...
