Was Andre a Genius?

I’ve been restoring for 14 months and most of that has been with devices. I’ve worn my CAR-1 religiously and much of that with a strap / weight. Prior to devices I had researched Andre’s Method, but never had enough skin to retain with an O-Ring, however, the other day I saw an O-Ring while at work and I decided to see if I finally have enough skin to start retaining with an O-Ring. It turns out I do so I’ve switched back to manuals and started tugging every hour on the hour and retaining with an O-Ring in between tugging sessions and I’m loving this routine.

Advantages of Andre’s Method

Here are the advantages I’ve observed so far with this method.

Skin on skin retaining
For me, perhaps the biggest advantage is skin on skin retaining. The feeling of my glans being in constant contact with my inner skin makes me feel like an intact man. The fact that I get to feel intact while I’m only at a CI-3 is amazing. And the fact that I’ll get to experience this as long as I do this method is a huge plus.

No bulky device in my pants
I was getting tired of the air bulge in my pants from inflation. Sometimes it was less than subtle. Now it’s just my penis and an O-Ring in my undies.

O-Rings Tighten the Foreskin Opening
I believe O-Rings will ultimately help me end up with the look I want. The videos of Andre’s foreskin show that his is nice and tight. I’m hoping to get this look.

Here are the downsides I’ve observed so far.

Missing a tugging session means missing progress
With devices, as long as you’re wearing the device, you’re making progress, but with manuals, if you can’t tug once an hour, you’re not maximizing your progress. There are some times I can’t make it to a private place to tug. But so far I’m averaging a good 10-14 2 minute tugging sessions per day.

Effort and time to add O-Rings after peeing
Having to take off my one O-Ring and put it back on to pee is a downside and I imagine that will only get more true the more O-Rings I add.

Conclusion for now

For now, the pros of this method outweigh the cons and I’ll stick with it as long as I can. I always have my devices to fall back on if I need / want to, but I’m very thankful to Andre (u/hardacroposthion) for so clearly documenting his restoration. It’s a huge help to a guy like me!

Was that a fart? No it was my CAR-1 leaking 😳

I just had a red faced restoration moment. I was in an important work meeting, of course wearing my CAR-1 with inflation (I always am while I’m at work) and I leaned forward to get something out of my sock that was poking me. Well the act of me leaning forward put enough pressure on my shaft skin that it forced the air out of my CAR-1. And it did not do it silently. It made the strangest squeaky fart sound imaginable in an otherwise quiet room. Needless to say I was mortified. 😱

With a community this large, there have to be some good, embarrassing restoration stories out there. I’m curious, what have you guys experienced that would make me chuckle?

Advice for Anyone Starting Out Restoring their Foreskin

Hey guys,

After 14 months of restoring, I wanted to write a post with some encouragement and advice for anyone just starting out. There’s a lot of good info on this sub, but it can be a lot to sift through all the posts to find good info so I wanted to provide everything that helped me get through year 1 in a single post.

Just get started
If you are even somewhat considering restoring your foreskin, start today. Start right this minute. I started restoring literally minutes after discovering this sub. I thought yup, I want that and I immediately grabbed my penis and started experimenting with MM2 and MM3. I learned pretty quickly that I preferred MM3, so for the first month I just made it a habit to perform MM3 every hour. I didn’t know what devices I should get yet, but the point was I started. Time is the one thing you can’t get back. I’ve read so many stories of men who considered restoring, but waited 4 to 6 months before they decided to actually do it. That is 4 to 6 months you can never get back. You can always stop restoring, you can’t get the time back that you waste contemplating starting. I’ve yet to read a single story of a man who is restoring, who said I wish I would have started later. In fact, it’s always the exact opposite. Start today, you won’t regret it.

Buy a device and build a tugging routine
There are a ton of good devices out there and they all work by adding tension to your skin. Do some research and buy one. If it’s not the right one, that’s ok, you can always buy a different one. Most men own more than one device over their restoration journey. I bought the CAR-1 and it’s worked well for me. I use inflation and a tugging strap during the day while I’m at work and I switch to my RIC packers during the evenings and weekends. I don’t use a timer to track my hours like some guys do because I’m so incredibly consistent in my routine. I can calculate my total tugging hours in a matter of minutes. I use my CAR-1 approximately 50 hours per week and my RIC packers approximately 45 hours per week. I do a little manual work, but not much. The most important part is consistency. Develop a routine, and stick to it.

Recognize each month of tugging
The very first day I started restoring, I took a ruler and I made 48 tick marks on a space next to my desk with an erasable marker exactly 1 inch apart. Then I placed a coin on top of the very first tick mark. Now, every time it’s a new month, I move that coin one tick mark forward. I’m not sure I will be done with my restoration by the time that coin moves to the end (4 years), but it is a visual reminder of the journey that I am on. It also forces me to stay consistent, because I know I don’t get to move the coin if I don’t spend a good solid month tugging. Something small like this can make a big difference.

Don’t trust your flaccid coverage as a sign of progress, use forced erect coverage (FEC) instead
Some men may disagree with me on this, but for me this is a big one. No matter what kind of cut you have, the skin you gain will most likely not make its way to the front of your penis right away. Many men were robbed of most of their outer skin, and they have really bad turkey neck. The first place their hard earned skin goes is returning their balls to their proper place. Other men, who have a very tight cut can spend an entire year of tugging just to see their skin relax a little. Think of a stretched rubber band, it has to relax before it can develop loose slack. The point is, flaccid coverage is a deceiving metric. The much more reliable metric is forced erect coverage. The day you start, while erect, grab your scar line, and pull it as far forward as you can (don’t hurt yourself, we’re just checking a measurement). However far you can pull your skin tube is your starting point. You will find that as you gain skin, that measurement will continue to progress, and it is your most reliable indicator of progress. When I started, I could barely pull my skin tube past my corona, now I can comfortably pull it a bit past the tip of my glans. This is all despite having very little change in flaccid coverage. I went from having some wrinkles to having a few more wrinkles while flaccid. This is also because I happened to start the Angion Method around the same time as I started restoring my foreskin. One of the positive side effects of the Angion Method is a longer flaccid length. My flaccid size went from a 3.5” grower to a 5.5” shower in a year. If I was relying on flaccid coverage to tell me if I was making progress with my foreskin restoration, I’d be very frustrated, because it looks like I’ve made almost no progress. But, because I use forced erect coverage (FEC) as my true north, I know I’m making rapid progress.

Do something for your inner and outer skin
I didn’t fully understand the importance of this until about eight months into my restoration journey. Daily, I was wearing my CAR-1 with inflation and thinking I was making great progress. And in some ways, I was. The issue is, inflation really only targets the skin that is inflated, which happens to be the skin closest to your corona which is your inner skin. So by wearing my inflation device M-F, I’m doing a great job in tensioning inner skin, but I’m not doing much for my outer skin. Your outer skin gets tensioned by devices or methods that put tension from the tip of your skin tube to the base of your penis. So now what I do is add a tugging strap to my CAR-1 that I strap to my sock under my pants. By simply adding that tugging strap, I’m putting all the skin on my penis under tension. MM3 is also a fantastic tool for tensioning both inner and outer skin. There is a reason Andre (u/HardAcroposthion) was able to restore so effectively using only his hands and retaining O-Rings. His methods target inner and outer skin. Whenever you put a device on, you should have a good understanding of what skin that device is placing under tension, and then have a good understanding of what additional methods or devices you need to wear or use in order to tension all of your skin.

Don’t use too much or too little tension
You’ll hear a lot of guys on the sub talking about how much tension to use. Some advocate for very little tension, others advocate for quite a bit of tension. What I have found works is the rule of thumb that within 3 minutes I should forget I’m wearing the device. It took me a while to learn this, because at first, I thought if some tension is good, more is better. But this is not the case. It’s also not good to place your skin under too little tension. You’re looking for Goldilocks tension. I hang about 400 g from my CAR-1 regularly and that feels about right. It’s enough to tension my skin well, but I can forget I’m wearing the device and the weight within about three minutes. This is Goldilocks tension.

Don’t give up
Just like Luis Sachar wrote in his novel Holes “The first hole is the hardest”, I think the first year is the hardest year of restoring. You’re building your routine, you’re not sure if it’s going to work, you’re not even positive you want to restore, you’re worried about your family or your spouse finding out, you’re worried about a device falling out while you’re at work. I get it, it’s a lot. But after a year, you will realize that this is totally doable. Now, Louis Sachar then goes onto say “The second hole is the hardest, so is the third, and the fourth…” but really, I think the hardest year is year one. Just get through that first full year.

Give yourself small breaks when needed
Let me define what I mean when I say “take a break”. I’m talking about switching from a tugging device to a retainer while on vacation or switching to manual methods on the weekends. I’m NOT talking about taking a month off here and there. Think of this as the longest road trip of your entire life. You definitely need to stop for gas and snacks, and to take a nap every once in a while, but if you stop driving for long periods of time, you’ll never get where you want to go. One of the biggest mistakes I see men make is go too hard, burn themselves out, and then stop for six months. I would rather take a mental health day, and hit it hard again on Monday than stop for a long period of time. Even if it adds a month to my overall journey, the small breaks here and there are necessary for me to keep going. When I take a vacation day from work, I usually take a vacation day from tugging as well.

Final thoughts
Have a reason for restoring and keep that reason as your Northstar. My Northstar is my wife approaching menopause. I know that in a few short years her natural lubrication will start to decrease and I want to do everything I can to ensure that sex is comfortable and pleasurable for her for the rest of our lives. That’s why I’m doing this and that’s what keeps me going. Maybe for you it’s to regain a part of you that was lost, maybe it’s the benefit of flaccid coverage and the comfort that provides. Whatever your reason is, keep it front of mind and keep on tugging.

Growing a Foreskin vs. Lengthening a Foreskin

Hey guys,

I had a thought today that I'd like the community's opinion on. The other day I was perusing the top posts from the year on this sub and a post by u/AllaboutTime2 came up titled ......and then: Suddenly one day you have a foreskin and it got me thinking.

Foreskin Restoration Can be Broken Down into Two Distinct Journeys - Growing and Lengthening

The first and in my opinion, most difficult part of the journey is the one I'm on now, which is growing a foreskin. Daily I'm gaining skin, and I can see progress, but by no stretch of the imagination do I actually have a foreskin. I'm growing a foreskin. I would put anyone CI-0 through CI-4 into this category. Until you're over the hump and a bit of the way over the hump at that, you're growing a foreskin. This part of the journey is brutal. You know that there are benefits to what you're doing, but they are so slow in coming. Especially if you have a tight cut, they can seem like they take forever. The skin from your balls all the way to your corona all needs to be lengthened just to get to zero, then you need to go about adding enough skin that it spills over beyond the corona. It's grueling and can be very discouraging.

But then, something changes once you pass CI-4. You stop growing and you begin lengthening.

One of the things I've noticed is that some of the most active men on this subreddit are men who are CI-6 or above. I see them giving a lot of advice as to what devices to use, what tension is appropriate, and what they do to restore, but they're in a different stage of the journey than most men here. Men CI-5 and above are through growing their foreskin and now they're simply lengthening their foreskin. They have more skin than those of us who are growing their foreskin and the skin that they have grows more skin. It's a compounding effect.

My question is around techniques, attitudes, and devices. Are there different devices that are better for the first half of the journey (growing) than the second half (lengthening)? Or is it all one big journey that doesn't change?

Think of packing devices like the RIC, which I have and use on the weekends. When you have very little skin and you're using say a 5mm packer, you only have 5mm of skin being tensioned so your gains are going to be very slow, but once you get to where you can use a 35mm packer, you have 35mm of skin being tensioned and all 35mm are now working for you sort of the way compound interest works for you from a financial standpoint.

I tend to think that devices that tension more total skin like T-Tape, FMD, or my personal favorite Inflation + Weight would be more effective for the first half of the journey and then devices like packing would be just as effective at lengthening the foreskin once you have one.

But that's just a guess. What do you think? Is there an optimum routine for the first and second halves of the journey?

Not all Tugging Hours are Created Equal - Quantity vs Quality

Hey guys,

I had a thought the other day that I wanted to explore with all of you. I've been restoring for just over a year and in that time I've gained about one CI level (moving CI-2 to CI-3). I've primarily relied on my CAR-1 inflation device, wearing it 8 hours per day during the work week and wearing my RIC evenings and weekends for comfort and convenience. (Side note: more than once, my 5 year old has randomly jumped on my lap. That is not fun with an inflated air device)

While I'm happy with my pace, I'd obviously like to restore faster if possible (we all would) so I started experimenting with hanging a weight from the CAR-1 alongside the direct air while working at my standing desk.

I've only been using a weight for about the past 3 months. I started with 200g for about an hour per day and then once I determined that my body was tolerating that weight well, I moved up to a 400g weight and increased my time spent with the weight from 1 hours per day to 3 hours per day during the work week (which I've been doing for the past 2 months). I haven't noticed any negative side effects due to adding the weight (I'm closely monitoring for skin fatigue, stinging, numbness or any irritations). In fact quite the opposite, since making that change, I've noticed my gains have really seemed to speed up.

This got me thinking about the impact that adding the weight has on my progress so I consulted Gemini about it and here was its response.

Direct Air (Alone)

Primary Target: Inner mucosal skin.

How it works: Compressed air pushes outward in all directions (omnidirectional tension). Because the skin is clamped under the device's gripper, the air creates a ballooning effect inside the skin tube.

The result: The inner mucosal tissue—the highly elastic skin between the scar line and the glans—takes the brunt of this expansive force. While the outer skin receives some residual stretch, direct air is widely considered the most efficient mechanical way to specifically target and expand inner skin.

Direct Air + 400g Weight

Primary Target: Dual-tension (inner and outer skin).

How it works: You still have the outward radial pressure from the air stretching the inner skin, but gravity is now pulling the entire device and clamped skin downward.

The result: That downward pull creates linear (axial) tension that runs straight up the penile shaft to the base, specifically targeting the outer shaft skin. A 400g weight (roughly 14 oz) provides a solid, consistent mechanical stress to the outer skin that direct air alone cannot achieve.

I then asked Gemini, how the addition of the weight for 15 hours per week would impact my restoration at the end of a 5 year period and this was its response.

Without the Weight (Air Only)

  • Estimated Progress: ~0.5 to 0.75 CI levels per year.
  • 5-Year Outcome: CI-5 to CI-6.
  • Visual Expectation: Full, consistent flaccid bunching against the corona (the ridge of the glans) and partial flaccid coverage when cool or seated. However, complete erect coverage or reliable flaccid overhang will be limited because the outer shaft skin remains tight, holding the new inner skin back.

With the Weight (Air + 400g Weight for 15 hrs/wk)

  • Estimated Progress: ~0.8 to 1.2 CI levels per year.
  • 5-Year Outcome: CI-7 to CI-8.
  • Visual Expectation: High likelihood of achieving full flaccid coverage with a distinct puckered end (the "snout") and partial erect coverage. The 400g weight provides the heavy axial tension required to elongate the outer shaft skin, giving the expanded inner skin the physical runway it needs to drape entirely over the glans.

Ok, now that the AI of it all is out of the way, let's get back to the point of the post. I've noticed that a lot of men use sheer hours as a way of gauging how much they're putting into their restoration journey, but I don't see as many men focusing on the quality of those hours. I tend to agree with Gemini's assessment here that the Air + Weight tugging routine will give me the growth of both the inner and outer skin that I need to get to my goal of a CI-8 and do it in a reasonable timeframe. Ultimately, a fully restored foreskin is the result of quantity and quality of tugging hours and the difference in simply adding the 15 hours of weighted time each week could be a staggering 3 CI levels in the course of 5 years!

Curious to hear the thoughts of the community on "quality vs. quantity" of tugging hours. Have you noticed varying speeds of progress based on different methods?

Also, in anticipation of some of the responses I might get, I fully know that AI has its limitations so before you tell me that I can't trust Gemini, I already know that, but I also know that it can give insights into trends. Whether it is accurate on the CI index I'll have in 5 years is less important than its insights on the impact that adding the weight has vs Inflation alone. That's why I'm asking you all. I'd like your opinions on methods, not a criticism of AI.

Thank you all! I love this community.

Glide Motivation

Hey guys,

My primary goal with restoration is glide. I want to make sex as comfortable and enjoyable for my wife as possible. I was curious if women liked glide as much as we think they do and I stumbled across this thread. It’s very motivating for me to continue because you’ll see a ton of women talking about how sex with intact men is more pleasurable.

https://www.reddit.com/r/TwoXSex/s/pJ76ApsQVw

For anyone who has achieved glide, have you had any partners comment on the improved experience?

I’m so excited to experience this one day!

Until that day, I’ll KOT!

Circumcision is not the root of the problem, lack of knowledge is

Circumcision has been around for thousands of years and realistically speaking it will be around for thousands more years. Circumcision is an evil that has worked its way deep into society and from what I can tell, it’s not going anywhere anytime soon.

Now before you mistake this for a pro-circumcision post, remember that I’m actively restoring and I left my son intact. I’m very much pro-foreskin. Let me explain what I mean.

The other day I was with a good friend of mine and I asked him if his son was intact. He told me that he was not. I probed a little deeper and he told me that he was fine either way so he left the decision up to his wife (really dude, your wife?). He asked her “have you ever been with any intact men?” And her response was “no and I think it would be a little weird if I ever saw an intact penis” so because his wife had never seen an intact penis, they had their son cut.

Another friend was having a baby boy, I asked him if he planned to leave his son intact and he said he never even considered not having him cut. I told him he should consider leaving him as nature intended and sent him some resources. He said he would “look into it”. Days later, his son was circumcised.

Some months later another friend was having a baby boy and I again I implored him to consider leaving him intact. He said “his brothers are circumcised and so am I so he’s getting circumcised”.

Three friends, three lame reasons, three boys needlessly mutilated. I started asking myself, “why is this still happening? It’s 2026, don’t we know better?” And the answer is no, we clearly don’t. Then it hit me. The problem is not that circumcision exists. As I mentioned before, circumcision has always existed, and will likely always exist. The problem is that we do not educate the public on the functions of a foreskin. None of these men viewed their decision to circumcise their sons as taking something valuable from them. They all viewed it as routine care, the same way they would view getting a child vaccinated, or having an ear infection taken care of. All three men are college educated and very good people. All three did what they genuinely believed was best for their sons.

My guess is, if you are reading this, you know what an important and incredible body part the foreskin is. You understand the mechanics of glide, the way a foreskin makes intercourse considerably more pleasurable for both partners. You get way the foreskin protects the glans and keeps it soft and sensitive. You understand that by removing the foreskin, you fundamentally change a man’s penis forever. You understand all this and you’re putting in thousands of hours to get these benefits that we were our birthright.

Until we start educating our public on the function of the male foreskin, people will continue to mutilate infants and children in the name of medical care.

So how do we change this? Many of us long for the day when our sons are protected from the scalpel by law. This is a noble goal, but until that day, we must do what is within our control.

The first step is to start talking about it. I fully planned on circumcising my son until the gal who did the birthing class for my wife and I encouraged everyone in the class to consider not circumcising our sons. She said there’s no medical benefit to it. This was the first time in my entire life anyone had suggested to me to not circumcise my sons. A random woman’s single suggestion spurred me to do my own research and ultimately I decided to leave my son intact. Had she not suggested this, I almost certainly would have had him cut like everyone else around me was doing. Now, I love sharing that I left my son intact. By sharing this information with my family, it gave my brother and my sister the courage to leave their sons intact and who knows, maybe each of them have talked to a friend who left his sons intact, and so on. Talking about the benefits of a foreskin openly is our first line of defense against the needless mutilation of our infants. Talk openly, you never know who might be listening.

Those are my thoughts on this Saturday. Thanks for reading.

Restore Like You’re in a Hurry

Hi guys,

I wanted to share some thoughts today about restoring. This is a long journey, one that takes persistence and dedication. Honestly, most men I know don’t have what it takes to restore. They don’t have the patience, the willpower, or the vision required to undertake such a massive task. They are willing to accept an inferior version of their body because the alternative is flat out difficult. And the men who decide to restore often hit it hard for a few months and then take a break. I have read so many stories of men who have turned what could be a four-year journey into a decade plus journey. Now, to each his own, and to those men, I also tip my hat because what you have done is you no less impressive than someone who does it quickly. But I don’t know about you, I don’t want to be restoring in 10 years. I want to be restored in 10 years. That’s why I decided today that my motto will be I need to restore like I’m in a hurry. I’m not talking about being reckless, I’m talking about being purposeful. I need to adopt a mentality that every minute of every day of restoration matters. If I can wear my RIC device an extra hour, then I will do that. If I can hang a weight from my CAR-1 while at my desk, then I will do that. If I can add another manual session while watching TV at night, or in the morning, then I will do that. By treating a 4 year activity as though I have a time limit on it, I’m ensuring I’ll be done in 4 years. This is every bit as much of a psychological battle, as it is a physical battle. The extra hours and sessions add up over time. And time is something I can never get back. I’ve spent the first 37 years of my life without a foreskin. I want my foreskin for as much of the remaining years that I have. I’ll only get that if I restore in a hurry.

Friday Rant

As I’m putting my device on for the fourth time today after going pee I found myself a little bit frustrated. The same thoughts going through my head that I’m sure have gone through every man’s head who has ever restored.

“Why did my parents do this to me?”

“I wish I just had my original foreskin and I didn’t have to wear this stupid device all the time.”

After my pity party, I was brought back to reality because the amount of skin I’ve grown in a year of restoring is significant. In a year, I’ve gone from a CI-2 to knocking at the door of a CI-4. It hit me that what we are participating in is truly a miracle. The fact that we can restore at all should never be taken for granted. If my arm was chopped off at birth, I’d have no hope of regrowing an arm, but as it stands today, in about 4 years time I’m going to permanently have the missing body part that I’ve craved my entire life. From the moment I knew I was circumcised, I had always wondered what was removed from my body. Would I ever understand what it was like to be intact? From most of my life, the answer was a clear no. Then a year ago, I discovered foreskin restoration and after restoring for a year, I am 100% confident I will be able to have a fully functioning foreskin. It’s just a matter of when. I know, I know. It won’t be the same as what was taken from me all those years ago, but it will be the best foreskin I’ve ever had and I will appreciate the hell out of that foreskin because I’ll have worked incredibly hard for it. I would not wish circumcision on my worst enemy, but who appreciates sight more? The man who is born blind and receives it in adulthood, or the man who is born seeing? I may never know the answer to this question, but I know that in about four years time, I will “see” for the first time in my life. And that is something to be excited about.

So to all the men out there putting their device on yet again, to all the men who are performing MM2 or MM3 yet again, know that what was done to you is a tragedy and is in no way acceptable. But also know that foreskin restoration is a miracle and we are lucky to have it and all the men who have gone before us, blazing the restoration trail.

Cheers to you all and KOT, my brothers. Happy Friday.

A Year of Restoring

I started my restoration journey almost exactly a year ago. Here are some things I’ve learned along the way.

  1. This is a long game. Progress is hard to see daily, weekly, or even monthly. But consistency is key. Stick with it.
  2. Finding progress markers is essential. The biggest changes I’ve noticed are

- More loose skin while masturbating. My skin now rolls over the hump on the upstrokes.
- Full FEC coverage, I started with almost 0
- More spontaneous rollover after removing a device. Once I take off my CAR-1, my skin will stay rolled over for about 3-4 minutes before it slides back. It looks really cool. I’m like “dang I have a foreskin, this is what I have to look forward to!”
- Moving up from a 0 to a 5mm to a 10mm to now a 20mm RIC packing device.

If it weren’t for these subtle signs of progress, I might think nothing was happening. But because of these markers, I’m motivated to continue. I now realize this will be a four year minimum journey, but I’m already a year into it. What a small price to pay for a life-long improvement in my body.

My tugging routine is very simple. I wear my CAR-1 with direct air inflation eight hours a day, five days a week while I’m at work. Occasionally, I will hang a 400g weight from it when I’m standing at my desk. Once I get home from work, I immediately switch to my RIC device, which I also wear on the weekend. I exclusively wear my Chris Air Retainer while I’m on vacation. I wear nothing at night and I don’t do hardly any manual tugging anymore. I just don’t have the time or patience for it.

In a year, I’ve gone from barely a CI-2, to a loose CI-3. I expect I am 6 months to a year away from getting over the hump.

KOT everyone, it’s worth it.
