[F4F] Lesbian, progressive, and feminist, and nothing can change that

(Because there's been some confusion about this, this is for an in character conversation/conversation-style play. Not for an OOC discussion of these topics. My whole hope is for you to push through the resistance, in whatever creative way you want to!)

No matter what you think, it doesn't work that way. You can't just rewire someone and make them want something they don't, or make them become something they aren't, just because you want to. I keep hearing about people trying this over and over, and it's so ridiculous I almost can't stand it. Using tricks? Manipulations? Showing women media with absolutely... vile messages? It's the most nonsensical thing I've ever heard of, and it seems like I keep running into this idea or references to it everywhere I look. It even makes me a bit angry.

How do people actually start to believe things like that? That strong and confident women can be turned into something so completely the opposite just through... what? The force of your personality, a little clever wordplay, and some audiovisual aids? Pornography doesn't hold some magical, subconscious appeal, it's just a cheap way of finding a thrill. Propaganda isn't magic, it's systematic and coordinated over an extended period of time. Hypnosis and mind control are things out of science fiction (emphasis on the fiction), and usually not even the good kind of science fiction. What even made so many of you fall for something so silly in the first place?

So why don't you do us both a favor and forget it? I'm absolutely, certainly not interested in talking to someone who believes anything like that. Even less so in someone who's convinced that she can do any such thing. I'm comfortable with where I'm at, thank you very much, and if you have a problem with lesbians, feminists, or progressive women, you should probably, definitely avoid talking to me altogether. Why would I want to talk to you, either? I'm not the least, tiniest bit interested in your silly little games.
