-Excerpt from The Veilbound Records, Vol. II-
She meant only to test a forbidden rite—
but the spirits she summoned were not echoes,
they were hunger given form, patient and watching.
Ectoplasmic hands cling to her warmth,
drawing her into the role the ritual had been missing.
In their grasp she feels her thoughts blur,
as if the veil itself is rewriting her place in the rite.
And she learns a truth all witches forget:
What crosses the veil
always takes more than it is given.
Rogues often believe they can read every trap,
yet the mimic’s favorite prey is the one who trusts their instincts too much.
The elf thief sought treasure and found a creature that mirrors desire back at its hunter.
Once caught, she learned that the mimic consumes more than flesh—
it feasts upon impulses, memories, and hidden cravings its victims never admit aloud.
Many who survive such encounters walk away changed,
uncertain whether they escaped a monster… or glimpsed a truth they were never ready to face.

Vol. II — The Living Hollows Beneath.”
No scholar agrees on what lies beneath the pit—
a beast, a nest, or merely a cavity where life has gone wrong.
What is known is simpler: the tentacles are not the creature.
The pit is.
They writhe without coordination, as if each limb dreams on its own,
guided not by hunger or strategy
but by a blind, ceaseless instinct to pull, to taste, to take.
When the elf tumbles in, the reaction is immediate—
not predatory, but automatic,
like a thousand nerves firing at the same stimulus.
The pit does not choose its victims;
it simply responds, enclosing any warm form that enters its reach.
There is no malice here, no intent.
Only the steady, overwhelming rhythm
of a place that has forgotten how to be still.
Simple dark elf nude standing illustration. Literally simple.
