Spa Riverside Body Scrub & Massage
Went to Spa Riverside on Wednesday evening for some relaxation and to destress. There were more people there than I expected for a weekday evening. At times there were three guys in the hot tub, a couple in the sauna, several in the steam room, a few in the relaxation room and even others sitting around the wet area and in the cold plunge.
I decided to get a body scrub and massage. I wasn’t expecting much but the body scrub was really good. I didn’t know what to expect when the guy providing the body scrub was naked when he walked to the hot tub and ask me if I was ready. Before the body scrub, he grabbed some trunks. If you haven’t been before, body scrubs at Spa Riverside are done in the wet area out in the open. There is no four foot wall or private room. After the body scrub I showered and dried, while waiting for the body scrubber / masseuse to undress and shower. The massage is done in a room adjacent to the locker room. The massage was kind of strange. The masseuse kept the door open but played spa music during the massage. The music was competing with the noise from the locker room and even the front desk, if you know how small Spa Riverside is. I was also covered during most of the massage, but not by a towel but something more similar to paper. Overall, the massage was average, but nothing spectacular. I would definitely get the body scrub again, but maybe not the massage.
