So this happened last night.
I was swiping on "SOME SOCIAL MEDIA APP" IYKYK. Not really looking, just bored. I came across a profile. Guy in his late 20s. Chubby face, shy smile, holding a cat.
I meant to swipe left. My thumb slipped. It matched. Within 10 seconds, he messaged.
Him: Hey. I know this was an accident. You can unmatch immediately. No hard feelings.
I didn't reply right away. He messaged again.
Him: Actually weird request. Could we just talk for 10 minutes? Like normal people? I'll pay you for your time. 1k. Just... talk to me. No weird stuff. I swear.
I stared at the screen for a full minute.
Part of me felt sad. Part of me was curious. I wrote back:
Me: What do you want to talk about?
Him: Anything. Tell me something you're embarrassed to like.
So I told him some stuff. We talked for about 20-25 mins. Reason was he never once asked for a photo, my number, or anything weierd. At one point he said that he has been on tht app for abt 6 mnts and I was the first woman to talk past Hi. Most don't even unmatch. They just disappear.
I asked him why he offered to pay. He said money wasnt problem for him. Finding someone genuine was.
I didn't know what to say. So I just kept talking.
At the end of the night, he sent me about 1k.
He said he wanted to do it again.
I accepted. He said that I was the best accidental right swipe of my life. I didn't unmatch. We're still matched. He hasn't messaged again. Neither have I.
