I have lots of layers to Amir’s story but the obvious detail is that he’s a very powerful magic user/sorcerer.
Another noticeable detail is him being surrounded by fire. He doesn’t have fire powers. That fire is apart of him now:
From 14 yrs old to now (he’s 25 yrs old) he’s had to survive by himself. So along the way he learned magic to try and protect himself.
One day, he used magic to try and save a village from being ransacked by outsiders, but this village didn’t take kindly to magic users so afterwards, they killed him.
On his way to the after life, he rejected paradise and fell into a fiery pit. A shadow talked to him and he told it he wanted to go back. Then he was resurrected in fire.
Now every time he relives the rage from the trauma in his head, fire forms out of nowhere.
From then on, he stopped using his magical knowledge to help people and started hunting down his enemies.
Also fun fact: he doesn’t wear underwear under his clothes/robes.
