starter ideas:
- trip was an anniversary gift for a girlfriend who dumped your character and you can't get a refund so you bring her
- was originally going to be a family trip, but parents canceled last minute and said they could go without them
- won an all expenses paid trip in some kind of raffle and decide to take her along as your +1
- she's your +1 for a destination wedding
- maybe the two of them are just close and planned a vacay to hang out
- maybe the two of them are already together and this is a couples retreat

My plans for this are for it to be a short to medium term plot, HOWEVER... I'm also very much open to potentially extending things into long term should the chemistry be there between the characters and w/ my partner. Let me know what kinds of things you like and we'll find a way to work them in if it's something we agree on!
