I wasn't normally someone who got really excited around Halloween. It was an excuse to go to parties, dress up a little bit, and get drunk, none of which were in my usual enjoyment wheelhouse. However, this year came with a bit of a snag. See, a friend (or friends, depending on the story direction) had planned to do a themed set of costumes, as a little exercise in fun. However, the date that they had been hoping to have complete the set dropped out at the last minute. So, naturally, instead of turning to any of the women they knew...they turned to me.

I had the decency to be offended, at least. Sure, I was about her height, and I was pretty skinny, so I could fit into a costume meant for a woman, but I was still a guy! Why couldn't they find another woman, I asked? Not enough time, they said. Besides, they wanted someone they could trust with them, to make sure nothing bad happened. These big, roaming Halloween parties can go sideways at a moment's notice, after all. Reluctantly, I agreed. I just hoped that we could put in our appearance, I could stick to the walls, have a few drinks, enjoy the snacks, and we'd Uber home with no more complications. Of course, when you hope for nothing to go weird, you know what that invites...

I know it's not Halloween, but costumes are always a point of fascination with me, and I love the idea of a young man getting roped into completing a couples' or group costume by friends appealing to his better nature. Exact nature of the costume can, of course, vary, and you can either play one of the friends dragging me along or another person at the party. If the costume would be more revealing or require a more, ahem, "robust" physique, I'm sure we can figure out a way to sell the illusion.
