[M4F] Launched into space to save humanity, the crew's only mission now was to breed
Earth was a ruin, there was no denying it. Despite the best efforts to try and reverse hundreds of years of environmental damage, wars, and famine most people knew these plans to try and save the planet and humanity would never really work. While this "Plan A" was admirable, "Plan B" was really the only true option for the survival of the human race.
As the situation worsened on Earth, in space there was flicker of hope. The spacecraft Exodus had been built over the last 50 years for a mission to the closest Earth-like planet to try to restart humanity on a new world. It supported a crew of a hundred people, fifty men and fifty women from all different walks of life: scientists, engineers, botanists, authors, musicians of all creeds and colors. In addition to having a specific contribution to humanity, all were single, with no ties to Earth and all had a genetic profile for high fertility.
Along with their roles in the colony, each crew member had been given a briefing before departing stating that after they arrived on their new world the plan was simple - breed. It didn't matter with who or how many; genetic diversity was paramount for the colony to survive and that required a lot of sex.
After being briefed, prepped and launched into the vastness of space, the crew woke up out of hypersleep on their new world dazed and confused. But as people started to build to their habitats, mingle with all the new people, and understand the mission at hand the pairing off began almost immediately.
It was hard to fathom that all of humanity was distilled down to just these people but you knew what had to be done and now it was your time to for you see with whom you would help save humanity.
Hey DPP! I'd love to find a detailed partner for both of us to play multiple roles for the people in the colony. It would allow for us to explore different relationships with crew members and how that could affect the colony as a whole and any different hierarchies that develop.
Would everyone have made the journey or is the balance of people off now, making for fun and interesting group dynamics? Is there jealousy as people pair up or is it highly encourage to have multiple partners and let natural selection take its course? There are so many ways this could go so would like to do a bit of discussion about this setup before jumping in. Please include 'colony' so that I know you've ready all the way down.
