Hey everyone, I had a bit of a mishap and spilled some poppers (alkyl nitrites) directly onto my bed/mattress yesterday. It’s been about 24 hours since it happened.
I’ve already removed the sheets and washed them, but I’m worried about the residue that might have seeped into the mattress itself. I’m still a little paranoid about lingering fumes or skin irritation.
Is 24 hours long enough for the volatile chemicals to have evaporated, or is the mattress likely still compromised? If the smell is mostly gone, is it safe to use, or do I need to take extra steps to decontaminate the mattress? Any advice on how to safely clean a mattress in this situation would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
