This is a 25 page hand drawn story + vore comic continuing Kate Brightpaw’s story after her first encounter with Butch the BearHound.

Kate wakes up knowing something is wrong.

Her surroundings appear normal. Her life has apparently continued. But she remembers enough of what happened with Butch to know that simply calling it a nightmare is no longer convincing.

That sends her looking for answers.

Kate is a 19 year old Neko Catgirl whose public life makes her look like the polished athletic cheerleader type, but she is considerably more confrontational and capable than first appearances suggest. She is confident, curious, physically aggressive when pushed, and deeply uncomfortable with mysteries she cannot solve.

That becomes important when her search crosses paths with Ren, an anxious university student being pursued by several dangerous figures for reasons he does not understand.

Kate does what Kate does.

She interferes.

Ren’s situation introduces the larger mystery behind Issue 2. He possesses an unusual perception that allows him to recognize structures and patterns other people literally cannot see. Someone knows that ability matters, and they are willing to hunt him for it.

The trail eventually brings Kate toward ApexGen, the biotechnology company responsible for Butch, and back into contact with Ethan Vanderleigh, the scientist behind him.

Ethan’s reaction to seeing Kate again creates another problem.

He looks like he has seen a ghost.

Because as far as Ethan’s research is concerned, what happened between Kate and Butch should have been impossible to survive.

And Butch?

He has changed.

He is larger, stronger, and still completely uninterested in ordinary food whenever Kate is nearby.

Issue 2 pushes The Last Routine from its initial suburban predator mystery into a larger mixture of action, psychological horror, biotechnology, and the hidden forces beginning to connect several BAHP storylines together.

I am deliberately leaving out the later sequence because that is where the vore side of the comic really begins escalating.

The goal of these profiles is to give readers a proper introduction to each major character beyond simply showing artwork or listing a few statistics. As BAHP, BACU, the comics, and the game continue expanding, we want new readers to be able to understand who these characters were before everything changed, what drives them, and where their stories are ultimately headed.

Who is Bambi Ascension?

Bambi begins her story as an 18 year old Neko Deergirl living in Luminia, one of Furthia's largest and most prosperous cities.

She is the daughter of Aldric Ascension, a respected member of Furthia's Royal Elite Guard. Although she grows up around privilege and the expectations associated with her father's position, Bambi never develops into the distant aristocratic personality her surroundings might suggest.

She is expressive, fashionable, emotional, inquisitive, playful, and occasionally stubborn enough to walk directly toward a problem simply because she needs to understand it.

At Luminia University she studies social wellness and cognitive behavior, reflecting one of the most important aspects of her personality: Bambi instinctively tries to understand suffering before she condemns it.

That makes her compassionate.

It also makes her vulnerable.

Bambi During BAHP: Hunger Pulse

Bambi Ascension: Hunger Pulse takes place before Furthia openly collapses.

The cities still function. University classes still matter. People go shopping, visit cafes, meet friends, and live ordinary lives without understanding that something ancient is beginning to interfere with their instincts.

The Hunger Pulse does not initially arrive as an army.

It begins quietly.

Predators develop strangely selective appetites. Memories become unreliable. Dreams feel too physical. Familiar environments become subtly wrong. People survive things they should not survive and awaken afterward unable to explain exactly what happened.

Bambi becomes one of the recurring focal points of these events.

Her compassion and curiosity repeatedly place her near predators she should instinctively avoid. The Pulse learns that it does not need to completely rewrite who she is. It only needs to distort qualities that already exist.

If something appears hungry, Bambi wants to understand why.

If someone appears wounded, isolated, or desperate, her instinct is often to help.

That distinction becomes central to her BAHP characterization. Bambi is not naturally submissive. She is naturally empathetic, and the Hunger Pulse repeatedly attempts to turn empathy into vulnerability.

Across stories such as Unfed Desires, these seemingly isolated encounters gradually begin revealing a pattern. Bambi experiences attraction, danger, fragmented memory, unexplained survival, and increasingly focused predatory attention while continuing to believe that each incident can somehow be understood on its own.

It cannot.

Something much larger has already noticed her.

The Chakra Connection

What makes Bambi especially important to the wider BA Universe is her unusual relationship with Furthia's Chakra Altars.

These ancient structures are connected to Furthia's spiritual energy and eventually become central to Varanus's plan for reshaping the world.

Where Varanus seeks to corrupt Chakra and transform it into another mechanism for hunger, Bambi possesses the potential to resonate with that energy instead.

She does not understand this ability at the beginning.

Neither does anyone around her.

But Varanus eventually realizes that the seemingly ordinary university student repeatedly caught within the Hunger Pulse possesses a connection to the very spiritual architecture his plans depend upon.

Bambi becomes an unexpected variable.

And eventually, a threat.

Bambi During BACU: Carnista's Uprising

BAHP shows the last days when Bambi can still believe her life is normal.

BACU is where that illusion dies.

When Luminia falls, Bambi's entire world is shattered. The hidden predatory instability that BAHP spent quietly building erupts into open conflict.

She loses the security of her home.

She witnesses the destruction of the society she grew up believing was permanent.

Her father falls during the conflict.

Lily is taken from her, leaving Bambi believing that one of the most important people in her life has been killed.

The university student who once studied how to improve people's emotional wellbeing suddenly finds herself moving through ruined Furthian territory trying simply to survive.

That is where her larger character arc, Rise of Ascension, truly begins.

Bambi does not become a warrior because fighting was secretly her dream.

She becomes one because there is no longer anyone else who can protect everything she refuses to abandon.

Her stubbornness becomes determination.

Her emotional sensitivity becomes resilience.

Her natural love of rhythm and movement becomes incorporated into a developing combat discipline.

Most importantly, the dormant relationship between Bambi and Chakra begins awakening.

Over time she becomes a Chakra based rhythm fighter, using graceful, almost dance like movement alongside bursts of spiritual energy drawn through her growing understanding of the Altars.

The girl who once wanted to understand why people suffered eventually becomes someone capable of confronting the force deliberately causing that suffering.

Bambi's Larger Role

Bambi's story represents the transition between the two major eras of the BA Universe.

In BAHP, she experiences a world being corrupted before anyone realizes there is a war.

In BACU, she experiences the consequences once that corruption becomes impossible to hide.

She remembers Luminia when university schedules, shopping trips, cafes, friendships, and ordinary frustrations mattered.

Then she watches that world disappear.

Her importance does not come from beginning as the strongest person in Furthia. She isn't.

It comes from watching an ordinary life become progressively less ordinary until Bambi is forced to decide what parts of herself survive the transformation.

Her compassion remains.

Her curiosity remains.

Her stubborn refusal to leave suffering unanswered remains.

But the circumstances surrounding those qualities change completely.

Eventually, those same traits that once made Bambi particularly vulnerable to the Hunger Pulse become part of what allows her to resist the world Varanus intends to create.

And that is where everything changes.

The starving bear is not just another predator. It is a presence that pulls at her in a way she cannot explain. The more she looks at it, the harder it becomes to walk away. The Hunger Pulse does not push her with force. It settles in quietly, reshaping concern into certainty, turning hesitation into intent. By the time she understands what she is doing, she is already choosing to stay.

The progression in this issue is deliberate and intimate. Early pages show Bambi approaching with caution, her body language unsure but drawn forward, while the bear barely stirs beneath the weight of its own starvation as seen in the forest encounter sequences around pages 5 through 7 . That tension does not break. It deepens.

What follows something slow and personal. A shift where empathy overtakes self preservation and Bambi begins to guide the interaction rather than resist it. The line between offering and surrender disappears entirely, and the encounter escalates into a full feeding sequence reflecting the core identity of Unfed Desires.

This issue marks a turning point in the saga. The hesitation seen in earlier encounters is gone. In its place is acceptance. Bambi is no longer reacting to hunger. She is answering it.
