Stop Pretending to Be Someone Else

Some of you need to stop treating this community like a revolving door of fake identities.

Creating multiple accounts, pretending to be different people, and repeatedly posting similar content does not make you anonymous or clever. Your public post and comment history can often connect the dots, and the behavior becomes obvious very quickly.

If you are trying to protect your privacy, use Reddit’s privacy tools and think carefully before posting. Otherwise, stop the nonsense. Repeated identity-switching, spam, solicitation, and rule circumvention will be reviewed and may result in removal or bans.

Keep your posts genuine, follow the rules, and stop assuming moderators cannot see the pattern.

30-Day Posting Format Trial Begins July 30

EDIT 1: UPDATE: Deployment successful.

Hi everyone,

Beginning tomorrow, July 30, r/NepaliConfessions will begin a trial of revised posting and participation controls. The trial will continue through August 31, 2026.

The objective is to encourage genuine, meaningful confessions while reducing solicitation, spam, artificial title padding, and repeated violations from newly created accounts.

Posting format during the trial

  • Titles must contain at least 25 characters and clearly summarize the confession.
  • Text-post bodies must contain at least 200 characters of meaningful information.
  • Meaningful details should be placed in the body instead of adding unnecessary material to the title.
  • Repeated words, sentences, symbols, invisible characters, random text, and unrelated filler will not count as meaningful content.

New-account participation

For accounts less than 15 days old:

  • Submissions will be temporarily held for moderator review.
  • Comments will be automatically removed.
  • A submission being held does not automatically mean that the author violated a rule.
  • Genuine privacy-preserving throwaway accounts may contact the moderators through Modmail for review and possible exemption.
  • Please do not include personal identifying information in your Modmail request.

These controls are intended to reduce repeated solicitation, spam, and attempts to evade previous moderator actions. We also recognize that genuine confessions sometimes require a throwaway account, which is why submissions will be reviewed rather than automatically rejected.

Existing standards remain in effect

Posts and comments seeking DMs, hookups, sexual partners, or off-platform contact remain prohibited.

Do not include:

  • phone numbers;
  • social-media usernames or contact handles;
  • identifying or private information;
  • solicitation for DMs, hookups, or private sexual contact;
  • content involving minors, coercion, blackmail, non-consensual intimate material, doxxing, or other violations of Reddit’s rules.

Sensitive content may be temporarily held for careful moderator review. A keyword match alone is not treated as proof of wrongdoing.

AutoModerator will also leave a pinned welcome and safety reminder at the top of submissions.

How the trial will be evaluated

During the trial, the moderator team will monitor:

  • post quality and participation;
  • title and body padding;
  • legitimate posts held for review;
  • Rule 9 solicitation attempts;
  • new-account violations;
  • successful rewrites and throwaway-account exemptions;
  • community complaints and Modmail;
  • moderator workload and safety outcomes.

After August 31, the moderator team will review the results and decide whether to retain, adjust, or reverse these changes.

If your post is held and you believe it follows the rules, please read the AutoModerator message and contact the moderators through Modmail if necessary.

Our core principles are not changing. r/NepaliConfessions remains a place for genuine confessions—not a hookup board, contact exchange, or solicitation forum.

Thank you for helping us make the community safer, more welcoming, and easier to participate in.

New posting checks for r/NepaliConfessions

Hi everyone,

We’ve added some automated checks to help improve post quality and community safety.

Please keep these points in mind:

  • Text posts should contain at least 200 characters of meaningful information.
  • Repeating the same sentence, word, letter, or symbol will not count as meaningful content.
  • Do not include phone numbers, social-media usernames, or other personal contact information.
  • Do not use posts to request private messages, hookups, or off-platform contact.
  • Content involving incest, minors, coercion, blackmail, leaked intimate material, or someone’s private information may be held for moderator review.

If your post is flagged, that does not necessarily mean you did something wrong. It may simply be waiting for a moderator to review it.

Please write genuine confessions, protect everyone’s privacy, and follow both our community rules and Reddit’s site-wide rules.

Thank you for helping us make r/NepaliConfessions safer and easier to moderate.

A Note of Thanks to Our Community: Celebrating Meaningful Stories, Introducing New Rules, and Welcoming Our Bots to Keep r/NepaliConfessions Organized, Respectful, and Focused on Authentic Sharing.

Hey everyone,

On behalf of the mod team, I want to thank you for making r/NepaliConfessions such a vibrant space. The stories, reflections, and conversations here are what keep the community alive, and we’re grateful for the honesty and thoughtfulness you bring.

We’ve recently implemented two moderation bots to help keep the subreddit running smoothly:

  • One ensures posts have meaningful titles, so your stories get the attention they deserve.
  • Another helps organize posts with the right flair — particularly “Looking 4” — making it easier for everyone to find what they’re looking for. Please use this flair if you are posting any “looking for” content. Posts without the correct flair will be removed automatically.

These tools aren’t here to restrict you; they’re here to support the community, highlight your contributions, and keep the space safe and respectful.

We encourage you to continue sharing meaningful posts — whether they’re personal confessions, reflections, or experiences. Every voice adds to the richness of this space, and we’re excited to see more of your stories.

Thank you for being part of this journey with us. Let’s keep building a respectful, supportive, and engaging community together.

Please use the new ‘looking4’ flair when posting any ‘Looking for’ requests. It helps us keep the community organized and improves the experience for everyone. Thank you all for contributing—don’t be shy, and keep the confessions coming.

As the title says, please use the new flair (as shown in this post) when submitting anything under “Looking for.”

If you have any questions, feel free to ask them here.

While posting, please keep the community rules/guidelines in mind.

Thanks, Mod Team

Please actually post real confessions here — this sub has so much potential, but lately it feels like every “confession” is just someone using the flair to fish for women. Guys, you’re not going to find your fantasy partner here, so please stop with the click‑bait and scammy posts.

I really do love this sub — it has so much potential for actual confessions, the kind that make you laugh, cringe, or question humanity in a fun way. But lately the feed looks less like a confession subreddit and more like a scavenger hunt for “women who will magically appear because someone used the confession flair.”

Guys… please. You’re not going to find your soulmate, your situationship, or your “DM me if you’re bored 😉” fantasy partner here. The click‑bait titles aren’t fooling anyone, and the “confession” flair doesn’t suddenly turn a dating ad into a deep emotional revelation.

If you are looking for someone, that’s totally fine — just please use the weekly thread that’s literally designed for that. It keeps things organized, keeps the main feed readable, and prevents the rest of us from scrolling through a wall of “looking for female” posts disguised as confessions.

Also, friendly reminder: the community guidelines exist for a reason. If you keep posting these fishing‑expedition ads outside the weekly thread, the mods will ban you. Not because they’re mean, but because they’re tired… and honestly, I don’t blame them.

Let’s bring back real confessions. Let’s make this sub fun again. And let’s retire the “confession flair = dating app” strategy — it’s not working, and it’s starting to feel like the world’s least effective pickup line.

Please stay safe, cheers!
One of the Tired Mods.
