How are they achieving this level of realism? (FLUX/SDXL/LoRA workflow?)

I've been studying some AI-generated portraits lately and I'm trying to understand the workflow behind them.

I'm attaching an example image.

What impresses me isn't just the realism, but how controlled everything is:

  • realistic skin pores and imperfections
  • natural underarm hair
  • convincing sheer/translucent clothing
  • subtle visibility of clothing underneath transparent fabric
  • believable anatomy
  • realistic lighting and shadows
  • fabric behaving naturally

I'm curious what techniques are responsible for this.

Is this mainly:

  • FLUX or SDXL?
  • Character LoRAs?
  • Skin/detail LoRAs?
  • Prompt engineering?
  • Multiple inpainting passes?
  • ControlNet/IPAdapter/PuLID?
  • Photoshop after generation?

If you've built workflows capable of this level of realism, I'd love to know what contributes the most.
