Naturally she gave us jaw-dropping pics like the first one you see above for the duration of the website’s existence, but Petra also gave paying admirers a glimpse into her world by documenting numerous trips abroad, like the visit to Bali (near her mother’s Indonesian homeland) in 2006.

It was the personalization that kept Petra’s site lively and interesting beyond the obvious appeal of her glorious naked body. Nothing lasts forever, but I do wish Petra could’ve stuck around another few years – that would have been nice.

Petra was already immensely popular thanks her voluminous body of work with Playboy by the time the internet had etched itself into becoming a part of everyday life.

So with Pin-Up Girls (her first presence on the Web) still in its infancy, Petra spread her wings by taking her talents to an established platform that initially set the standard for online erotica.

Imagnet launched in the early ‘90s by selling pics of pretty naked girls on 3.5-inch floppy disks through snail mail. Yep, no downloading. Total barbarians.

However by ‘96, Imagnet had carved its niche with a site that allowed relatively quick downloads while utilizing e-commerce for payment — a rarity in those days.

Consequently the site, and more specifically their Classic Centerfolds feature highlighting “new and original nude photos of your favorite classic centerfolds” became an instant hit.

Playmates like Miss August 1986 Ava Fabian, Miss September 1990 Kerri Kendall and Miss December 1982 Charlotte Kemp could now accommodate the masturbatory longings of their admirers, quickly and easily.

But of course none inspired more guys to jerk-and-drain themselves into a stupor more than Petra, and her Imagnet originals above show exactly why.

While pursuing an acting career, a then 22-year-old Petra needed a headshot for her portfolio, and modeled for a photographer in exchange for free shots.

Seeing her obvious quality, the photographer promptly sent Petra’s images to Playboy, who then contacted her for a test-shoot.

Initially hesitant about nude modeling, Petra eventually debuted in Playboy’s Great Playmate Hunt special edition in February 1989.

She was enshrined as the centerfold of the Christmas issue that year, and would go on to become both the most published Playmate in the magazine’s history and the internet’s most prolific nude model ever.

These three pictures are from her earliest shoot with Playboy, of which the first was included in the special edition that launched her career.
