A small update

Some time ago, I made a post here introducing myself. I talked about being a 20 year old pre-law student who loved reading, writing, painting, and spontaneous adventures. I wrote that I wasn’t looking for someone who only wanted sex. I wanted an older man who was kind, emotionally open, and a true gentleman. I remember writing, “I’m looking for a man who effortlessly gets me.” Looking back now, it’s surreal.

Not long after I posted, someone reached out.
We talked every day. Hours would disappear without either of us noticing. Eventually we decided to meet, and now I’m spending my summer with him.

The funny part is that the person I described in my original post turned out to be real.

He’s patient, gentle, endlessly supportive, and somehow manages to make even the most ordinary days feel special. We cook together, slow dance, run errands together, laugh over absolutely nothing, and enjoy simply being in each other’s company. He listens when I ramble, encourages my dreams, and reminds me every day what it feels like to be genuinely loved.

One thing I wrote in my original post was that I wanted to be someone’s safe space, and I hoped to find someone who would be mine. I found exactly that.

Fast forward to today, and I’m proud to say that he’s now my fiancé.

If you had told me when I hit “Post” that my introduction would lead me to the love of my life, I would’ve laughed. Reddit can be a strange place, but every once in a while, it brings two people together who never would’ve met otherwise.

So thank you to this community for existing. Age gap relationships aren’t for everyone, and that’s okay, but for those of us who are here, I’m grateful there’s a place where we can connect.

And to anyone who’s debating whether to make that introduction post or send that first message…you never know where it might lead.
Mine led me to my forever. ❤️
