Day 9 post op

Hello! I am on day 9 post op and am feeling so happy. Documenting my daily progress :)

As you can see in my before photo I had a lot going on. For all my life I struggled with my labia size. Of course the self esteem issues, but the real issue has always been underwear/swim suits, pants, sitting wrong ect. When I was maybe 14/15 I tried to cut them off in the bathroom, but couldn’t handle the pain. I hid in a ball of anxiety for years and through several paps saying that I was fine and it’s just who I was. Fortunately I married a man who never made me feel bad/less about it. When I found this sub, it was like a whole new world opened up. I was too nervous to bring it up to my primary until I started Lexapro! The ball moved quickly from there and my doctor was even able to help me get this covered by my insurance.

My post op experience has been easy. Pain at most was a 5/10. I have been able to take plenty of time off work and have a support system here to take care of everything while I just lay in bed and ice it. It feels so surreal to feel my labia down there and it is so small. My underwear doesn’t have that bulk anymore. It almost makes me feel giddy! I even feel more sensations down there, it’s almost like my labia before was hiding things.

I had a check up with my surgeon yesterday, healing is looking great and I am just to keep resting for another week.
