Little bit crowded as indicted by number of folks who passed by—2 Indiv women and a group of three young men. All easily dealt with by covering up. Otherwise, a GREAT 3 hrs naked alongside a pretty calm Gulf.
So there I was not 10 minutes ago, walking back to my spot at Opal, naked as a jaybird. I had my thong and my phone in my hand and nothing else with me. Quite suddenly, I hear an enormous sound coming up from behind me. It lasted for probably three or four seconds during which I was honestly kind of disoriented because of the volume of the sound. I look up and right above me – – I would estimate maybe 750 feet above the deck – – is a five ship formation of the Blue Angels flying parallel to the Gulf Coast. (I assume they were headed home from DJT’s 80th bday bullshit in DC.) As I watched them, they continued West towards Portofino and began ejecting their airshow smoke for the folks at Opal.
It was cool for sure, but I was in the military for quite a while so the whole performative airshow type deal doesn’t really do it for me anymore. What is much more thrilling is that I can now claim – – obviously tongue-in-cheek – – that I received a flyover from the Blue Angels while naked on a Florida Panhandle beach.
