Help me to choose

I don't use graphite in my work because its for the weaks. Besides, using "academic" materials feels intuitive to me. It makes me feel fancy.

I always use charcoal and pastels, but I’ve always had a "go-to" pencil. something easier to handle that I use to sketch out the drawings.

I usually use a hard Cretacolor Black (an oil-based charcoal pencil). Now, though, I'm thinking about switching to the Mars Lumograph Black (a graphite pencil that's very dark due to its high carbon content).

I did the same drawing using both pencils; help me choose the best one.
