Her newly appointed personal knight is a young warrior from a people conquered by Avarra, placing him in the uneasy position of defending the ruler who represents the crown he resents. Though inexperienced in court politics, he is disciplined, perceptive, and unwilling to flatter her, creating a tense relationship built on arguments, reluctant trust, conflicting loyalties, and a growing attraction neither of them can safely acknowledge. The RP would follow them through assassination attempts, diplomatic negotiations, dangerous journeys, and a widening conspiracy as the queen tries to prevent war and the knight must decide whether his oath, his people, and his feelings for her can ever coexist.
