Public outrage as boy is stripped and humiliated within DS premises in front of laughing step-sister and friend. Progressives claim the punishment was well-deserved. Traditionalists say the sanctity of male authority has been violated and demand the two girls be publicly shamed. What do we think?
Yesterday, a 19-year-old sophomore at a local college who had been vocal about his "right" to spank any woman found himself on the wrong end of the belt. After reportedly threatening to spank his older step-sister and her friend for no reason other than "because I am a man", his step-dad decided to intervene and teach him basic empathy. The boy was stripped naked, even past his underwear, and forced to do jumping jacks while the two girls laughed at his bouncing genitalia. He was then spanked and belted, and his backside was captured on a smartphone camera.
Traditionalists are up in arms, flooding the DS with outrage that a male was subjected to disciplinary measures at all. "The rules are explicit, only women may be disciplined within DS premises," argued one longtime member. "This isn't about whether the boy was arrogant or whether his views were distasteful. It's about preserving the fundamental structure of our society. If men can be stripped and shamed like this, where does it end?” Several members have petitioned that the girls be publicly disciplined for laughing and taking photos during the proceedings, and the step-dad have his membership revoked for violating DS traditions.
Progressives, however, are celebrating the step-dad's actions as necessary correction. "This was a direct response to a young man who believed his gender grants him inherent superiority, threatening to punish women without reason, solely for his own pleasure," said one advocate. They note that the step-dad pays the boy's college fees, making him fully dependent and subject to his authority regardless of his male gender. They also propose an amendment that young boys aged 18-24 be subjected to the same humbling measures as women, arguing that experiencing submission firsthand would purge youthful arrogance and turn them into more thoughtful disciplinarians in the future.
The question now is which side you fall on. Do you support the traditionalist view, the progressive view, or something in between?
