[F4A]: "The Law of Attraction" (Long-Term, Narrative Driven Slow Burn with Rivals-to-Lovers)

Professional rivalry, ethical boundaries, and the spark that comes from the collision of two of the sharpest minds the city has ever seen...

In the decade she's been practicing, the city's prosecutor Amanda Philips has built herself a reputation on her discipline, precision, and uncanny level of self-control. She has faced off against Jack Moore, a defense attorney that's well known for his calm brilliance, razor-sharp logic, and a near inhuman ability to find cracks in the armor of even the toughest cases. Their "performances" are the type that the courthouse staff and even people from neighboring cities come to witness.

Their rivalry is almost like something you'd read about in one of those dime-per-dozen, cheesy romance books you'd pick up from one of the "Popular Now!" tables you see when you first walk into a bookstore, with their sharp exchanges that leave everyone buzzing, the long gazes they share from over their respective benches before every trial, and the mutual acknowledgement that they are both each other's strongest opponent. But beneath the professional game of tug-of-rope, something deeper has been growing. A curiosity, a warmth that neither of them would dare to acknowledge or even begin to label.

Then they're assigned a case that changes everything. It's high stakes, politically charged, and absolutely impossible to navigate without near constant interaction with each other. Suddenly, they're sharing late nights in the courthouse library and exchanging clipped but uncharacteristically gentle comments during their strategy meetings. They pass each other in empty hallways and ride the same elevator more than simple coincidence should allow. And they've been catching each other's eyes at the worst possible moments.. or maybe, the best ones.

The tension becomes an unwelcome presence, nagging at both of them. It's something that neither of them dare to mention, yet both of them feel in every moment where their professionalism strains under the weight under what both of them are too prideful to acknowledge.

Hello! Thanks so much for taking the time to read my post, especially since it seems to be a bit longer in length than what I've gathered to be the general norm on DPP. It means a lot to me, even if you read it but ultimately opt not to message me. So again, thank you.

Like what I assume is the case with most (if not all) collaborative writers, I have a few "disclaimers," if you will, or "non-negotiables" that I'd like to lay out, just so you'll know what you'll be getting into if you do happen to be interested in writing this story with me.

- While I'm not a professional and certainly have plenty to learn, I do try my best to write skillfully, and ask that my partner does the same. Simple mistakes happen here and there, but I would like for things to read as at least somewhat polished.

- I feel it's only fair to be up front about this: I am a full-time student (typically; I'm not in school right now, but the summer semester starts in a couple weeks) and I do deal with chronic illness. So, it's likely that I will not be able to write every day. I'm always down to chat, though, so never hesitate to message me. I just may not always have the energy to put together something for the roleplay. I tend to respond fairly quickly otherwise (depending on the platform we decide to use to communicate/write).

- I prefer to write exclusively on Discord, mainly because we can create our own server to keep things organized and easy to keep track of. Other communication platforms will be considered if absolutely necessary, but please keep my preference in mind.

Non-Negotiables

- I do not and will not send any type of photo or video of myself, nor will I do video calls. Audio files and voice chats are fine. If you want to send a photo or video yourself, that's okay. But keep in mind that it will not be reciprocated. I prefer to keep my identity (outside of my name) anonymous. Though if we establish trust and develop a friendship of some sort, I may send a (non-explicit!!!) one later.

- Absolutely DO NOT!!!! send explicit photos, videos, voice memos, etc. of yourself without asking permission first. If you do, you will be blocked. No questions asked.

- Please do not immediately ask about my kinks, or share yours. We are both people first, and I like for there to be a bit of "get to know you" conversation before we get into anything sexual. After we've established ourselves, I will send you a link to my kink list.

- Be mindful that I have a life outside of writing. I cannot be at my computer or on my phone 24/7. I will keep the same in mind for you, always.

- If you're going to be unable to talk and/or write for a while, please let me know. You don't have to explain why, just give me a heads up so I don't think I've been ghosted. I will extend the same courtesy to you.

- Going along with my last point, PLEASE DO NOT GHOST. If you aren't vibing with the way the story is going, or just with me in general, let me know. I'd be glad to work something out, but if the problem can't be solved, we can go our separate ways amicably.

That's it!! I hope I've grabbed your attention and look forward to hearing from you soon. One more thing, I don't expect you to stick to the name I gave your character in the prompt. You're more than welcome to come up with something else. And don't be afraid to message me, even if you're not feeling the prompt I've given here. I'm always happy to create new, exciting stories with other writers.

Looking forward to hearing from you.. Counselor 😉
