So, yeah, ever since TNG came out in 1987, I've been hoping that I would live long enough to get my grubby mitts on a holodeck. Turns out I can get pretty close before I get too old. The VAM with AI chat thing looks amazing, but I am confused as to how to get started.

I know that they are both separate applications, and nobody is bundling them together. I see that itch.io has a 'one time' fee that gets you VAM and vamX, but not the AI chat. Would it be best to pay the $40 for this and then just pay for the chat monthly? Or is there another way? Does that $40 charge mean I always have the newest version of both?

I figured I'd ask here as my ChatGPT already thinks I have questionable character.
