[LFG] [GM4F] [PBP] [1-on-1] [D&D] Dungeons & Dragons 5e adventure in a homebrew world

Şerteht, the city of the lion rock, the city of the world’s desires. Reyna has seen it once before, but at the gleaming towers and then the vastness of the city rises out of the azure sea on her approach towards its port, it remains as captivating a sight as the first time she saw it. If stories are to be believed, it is not the largest city in the world, yet as the sails bring her ever closer it is hard not to think this a singularly unique construction in all the world, so vast is it in comparison to the cities she has seen.

Even her home city, which still ranks as the queen of the oriental coast, is as a mere village to this behemoth. Magic can be seen radiating off of it, visible only to those blessed by a spellcaster’s eyes, it paints the skies in a vibrant hue of unexplainable colours, the wealth of the city evidently being counted in ambient magic as well. The weather does do it some service in many regards, the cloud-free sky allowing the sun to shine down marvellously on the ocean and vast river which divides the city in two, making it appear as a sparkling sapphire road leading into the capital’s heart. The high summer does it some disservice as well though, for as the ship gets closer the familiar smell of sun-bathed city reveals itself as well, musty and unpleasant.

Yet it does not bring down her mood all too much, even as the smell of the tanners’ quarter blows across the deck, for the city offers up a plethora of opportunities and possibilities, far away from her homeland and those who would seek her ill, in this land she is but one among hundreds of thousands, maybe even more, the thought occurs to her, for the docks seem full to the breaking point and still more ships are arriving from near and far. By human reckoning it has been a lifetime since Şerteht saw such celebrations, not since the marriage of Emperor Akam’s first child and the city had grown a great deal since those days.

But when the ship, named the Şûrmasî, does find a place to dock, farther away from the city center and after taxes have been paid to the harbour officials, Reyna can step off the ship which has carried her from the goblin islands to Şerteht. Now she stands at the edge of one of countless streets where people of all races move, ready to be carried further into this colossus of cities. Thousands are moving through the streets and alleys around her, cart-pullers transporting goods brought in on the ships, street merchants calling out their wares and prices to the crowds and yet more just moving to and fro. The smell of dust and sweat is ever-present.

Now the question is what to do and where to go, almost all the city is open to her, the Closed City of the emperor and imperial court the only exception and only the New City, on the western shore of the mighty Resh river, blocked by toll booths. Someplace to actually live while in the city may be prudent, but in the end she is free to choose to go about as she wishes.

Greetings, the name's Royalist (She/Her, 21 yo) and I'm currently on the look for a new ERP player for a 1x1 ERP Dungeons & Dragons 5e campaign in my own homebrew setting. I'm a worldbuilding nerd who has only recently gotten into GMing, so be aware you'll be playing with a relatively newbie GM. Still, I have about a decade's worth of RP experience, half a decades worth of TTRPG experience and about the same amount of experience in dedicated fiction writing.

While I have a couple campaign concepts already prepared (the writing sample above being from one of them), as this is in part a worldbuilding exercise for me, feel free to come with your own.

I'm a multi-paragraph writer and I expect a prospective player to be able to write at that level as well.

If this intrigues you, please feel free to fill out the following form: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScu3-RlCa_GQNGRvvszXYflOyMzYRXeE4iLpGdBjtbOZ_f6BQ/viewform?usp=header
